i’m pretty sure i’ve read (probably here) that Melky runs better routes than Gardner, there for has better range, despite not being as fast. from what i’ve seen, i’ll agree. i don’t think the differences is huge, regardless…

a Coke and a smile

Phil Coke, in my humble estimation, is a far superior pitcher to old guard Andy Pettitte. I’m not saying Andy should have been kicked to the curb, but Coke has the type of easy velocity that doesn’t come from a syringe.

I’m so happy about Brett. I just hope he can keep this up. I mean, of course he’ll slow down once he has to face good starting pitching, but I’m very optimistic about him.

Absolutely. I still can’t believe that these alleged “experts” think a guy with stuff like his should be a set-up man. Anybody with a true eye for value knows he should start.

This division is going to come down to 2 things

1. Injuries
2. Who gets off to the best start

These are 2 things that we have struggled with a lot in recent years… injuries and lethargic starts. We must stay healthy and come out firing. These guys cannot use the cold weather excuses or whatever for their historic slow starts. We must come out of the gate strong.

Al, interestingly enough not everyone is drinking that kool aid! I always think it’s a hoot that Vegas gives the Yankees the hands-on odds despite what may have happened the season before.

By and large, people are always willing to buy into the Yankees.
