Just wanted to make sure everybody had this information released by the Yankees today:

The New York Yankees announced today that the online registration process for the general public to apply for the opportunity to purchase tickets for individual games in the inaugural season at Yankee Stadium is underway at www.yankees.com and www.yankeesbeisbol.com. The registration process will be open to fans through Tuesday, March 17 at 10:00 p.m. Due to the large demand for individual-game tickets, a random drawing will be held from the registrant pool. Those selected from the pool will be notified on Friday, March 20, at which time they will receive a password, which will allow them to purchase tickets online only on Monday, March 23, prior to the general public on-sale.

Prior to the public on-sale, all Yankees Premium, Full-Season and 41-Game Ticket Licensees will be able to purchase individual-game tickets, online only, via a pre-on-sale on Thursday, March 19. On the following day, Friday, March 20, all other Partial Plan Licensees (of 20-, 15-, 12- and 11-Game Plans) will be permitted to purchase individual-game tickets online only as well. For complete information, including ticket limits, please visit yankees.com.

Beginning Wednesday, March 25, tickets may also be purchased at the Yankee Stadium Ticket Office, at all area Ticketmaster outlets, via Ticketmaster by phone at (877) 469-9849 and Ticketmaster TTY at (800) 943-4327, and at all Yankees Clubhouse Shops.

The Yankee Stadium Ticket Office is located outside the new Yankee Stadium adjacent to Gate 4 on 161st Street and Jerome Avenue. Beginning March 25, the Yankee Stadium Ticket Office will be open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The first games in Yankee Stadium will be exhibition contests vs. the Chicago Cubs on April 3 at 7:05 p.m. (gates to open at 4:00 p.m.) and April 4 at 1:05 p.m. (gates to open at 10:00 a.m.). Full-season ticket licensees will receive complimentary tickets for both games. Partial-plan holders will receive the opportunity to purchase tickets, subject to availability, via the pre-on-sales previously described. Also subject to availability, tickets will be made available in the general public online-only on-sale on Monday, March 23, and to all fans via www.yankees.com, the Yankee Stadium Ticket Office, all area Ticketmaster outlets, Ticketmaster by phone at (877) 469-9849 and Ticketmaster TTY at (800) 943-4327, and at all Yankees Clubhouse Shops, beginning March 24.

For the exhibition games vs. the Cubs, Bleachers tickets will be 25¢, and Grandstand tickets will be $1.10 — the same prices they were the day the original Yankee Stadium opened on April 18, 1923. Tickets on the Terrace Level will cost between $20-35, tickets on the Main Level will be priced between $20-45, and tickets on the Field Level will range from $45-$50.

Also on another note the Yankees announced on their web page that this year gates to all games will open 3 hour before game time rather than the usual 2.

So this year fans get to see Yankees batting practice. And of course spend more money in the stadium lol.

So I had a partial plan for last year, and they didn’t contact me, that means they have no interest in selling me another plan, huh? That just sucks. I waste my time doing the relocation survey and this is how they reward me?
Oh well….I guess the economy slowing down means the yankees will have more tickets available along the way.

  3. #9 March 14th, 2009 at 10:18 pm

Yankees & all of MLB will get a dose of the ‘Great Recession’ this year…. there will be LOTS of tickets available along the way…

  4. Chris March 14th, 2009 at 10:18 pm

I am also a partial plan holder and was not contacted… I was told I would be told this week latest.

  5. jb March 14th, 2009 at 10:20 pm

If you entered the pool process you probably will get called. You should check your account online. What ticked me off is I had a Frday and Sunday plan. I kept my Friday tickets even though I got relocated to the second to last row of the stadium. The Sunday plan I got a weekday plan instead. I got rid of those and re-entered the pool process only to be offered seats again to Sunday games which they said were full. So I buy those and askedif I could upgrade my Friday seats. No dice. This year has just been a debacle with seats. Especially since the Sunday plan used to enclude opening day, but now doesn’t. Then you don’t even get a shot at the first pre-sale day.

The USA got there a.. whipped by Puerto Rico tonight and Dwayne Wade is still MVP :D

  7. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:31 pm

    thier*

  8. Danny March 14th, 2009 at 10:32 pm

IMO, Wade and the Heat are winning the NBA title this year. No team is hotter. Wade will be the best player on the floor in any game against anybody.

Don’t see how they don’t win it all again.

  9. dave March 14th, 2009 at 10:33 pm

Blessing in disguise for the USA… they now get to beat up on the Dutch and get their mojo back.

Venezuela would have killed them. Now they get a freebie.

  10. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:34 pm

Don’t sleep on the Dutch dave, they have defense and SP, it’s no drop in the bucket.

  11. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:36 pm

And there is too many excuses being made about team USA’s pitching, stop it, PR had Javy Vasquez pitching, K-Rod is pitching for Ven, and many more MLB players, so out of everyone team USA’s pitching doesn’t have the clock, please.

  12. tampayank March 14th, 2009 at 10:44 pm

that was embarrassing; no worse feeling than losing via the mercy rule; hopefully this is a wake up call and The Captain gets the guys ready for tomorrow or they could not care and say ‘hey it’s just ST’

  13. FrontLine March 14th, 2009 at 10:46 pm

The problem is the watered down roster of the USA team. It is not an accurate representation of USA talent.

    A team with

    Halladay – Sabathia – Lincecum – Webb – Hamels

with a pen of Lidge – Papelbon – Nathan – Shields – Jenks – Fuentes

    And a lineup with Rollins – Pedroia – Teixeria – Holliday – Hamilton – Mauer – Wright – Sizemore plus a DH

would destroy the best team from any nation.

  14. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:50 pm

You can say that for alot of teams Frontline you know how many Dominicans, Puerto Ricans and Venezuelans and Japan players aren’t in the WBC that would dispell that little they would destroy any nation BS.

  15. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 10:50 pm

I slept on the Dutch once and ended up in a canal. :(

  16. Trevor March 14th, 2009 at 10:51 pm

You can also add Joba too, if you’re going to do a true representation of the U.S talent.

  17. Arenoso March 14th, 2009 at 10:52 pm

brandon is right, I was at the PR vs Netherland game last Monday and that team is no walk in the park, the don’t have any offense whatsoever but their pitching is great, Venezuela only conected 3 hits in todays game (2 HRs and 1 3B)

  18. Trevor March 14th, 2009 at 10:52 pm

Brandon even with the full Dominican squad they still would lack pitching.

  19. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:52 pm

add Johan to Venezuela, Vlad to DR, Pujols to DR… etc..

  20. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 10:54 pm

Brandon, which Pujols? You mean the Dominican Pujols?

  21. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:54 pm

Trevor and your point here is ? You think D.R. wouldn’t smack the U.S. w/ a full offensive roster, add Manny and Pujols, and Liriano, Ervin Santana…don’t put yourself that high.

  22. Matt March 14th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

Agree 100%. The fact that they replaced Joe Nathan with LaTroy Hawkins says it all.

This is not the best team USA can offer. No way PR scores 11 runs off Halladay or Lincecum or tattoos Nathan/Papelbon the way that Thorton got tattooed.

  23. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

‘Brandon, which Pujols? You mean the Dominican Pujols?’

    Yes Nick, Albert Pujols

  24. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 10:57 pm

Matt your not even playing an ‘A’ Puerto Rico team, Beltran and Delgado are the prime players, it’s missing many, many more.

  25. freddy k March 14th, 2009 at 10:59 pm

    So you’re saying that

    Volquez/Cueto/Ervin Sanana/Lariano

    is better than

    Halladay/Lincecum/CC/Webb?

  26. freddy k March 14th, 2009 at 11:00 pm

So, enlighten us of the ‘full’ PR/DR squads?

  27. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Thanks, Brandon. It was getting confusing with the Mexican Pujols and the Australian Ichiro and the human Youk.

  28. pat March 14th, 2009 at 11:01 pm

“I slept on the Dutch once and ended up in a canal.”

but did you see anyone in a Yankee cap there?

  29. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 11:01 pm

    ‘So you’re saying that

    Volquez/Cueto/Ervin Sanana/Lariano

    is better than

    Halladay/Lincecum/CC/Webb?’

When did I say that ? and when can you say that ? you telling me those 4 like your 4 on any given night can’t shut down a lineup ? did you not watch any of them.

  30. Yanks 245 March 14th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

The Latin American countries could throw out comparable starting rotations… but would get KILLED by the USA in the bullpen.

And with the 70 pitch limits, it puts much greater importance on the pen.

  31. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 11:06 pm

I get the feeling people here think it’s some Team USA basketball-like type thing, no not really that isn’t the case and it’s not like the full roster for the other world teams are there.

Jorge Posada was suppose to play for PR
Manny and Vlad are missing from DR
    Johan Santana from VEN

The U.S. is not a superpower even Cuba is sending basically thier B and C squad to the tourney.

  32. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 11:08 pm

pat: I did, but I found out later it was me.

  33. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 11:11 pm

‘The Latin American countries could throw out comparable starting rotations… but would get KILLED by the USA in the bullpen.’

So the U.S. bullpen over every other country right ? Explain how, since there are roster limits and it’d be putting your best BP guys vs the other countries best hitters.

  34. Buddy Biancalana March 14th, 2009 at 11:16 pm

    Nick-

You think the A’s will leave or is it just posturing?

  35. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 11:19 pm

Buddy: probably posturing, could they even afford to leave right now? Could anyone afford to take them?

I wish they could figure out some downtown Oakland site that made sense. Or maybe Treasure Island? ;)

  36. Arenoso March 14th, 2009 at 11:22 pm

did anyone else notice that there were more PR fans than USA fans at todays game?

  37. Brandon, 'Watching Jorge Vasquez in the WBC & Wade go MVP in the NBA' March 14th, 2009 at 11:24 pm

    It was in Miami.

Nick in SF, How did you fare today ???

  41. Buddy Biancalana March 14th, 2009 at 11:31 pm

They have a lease for a few more years tho, we’ll see. I would be really annoyed if they left.

  42. Nick in SF March 14th, 2009 at 11:37 pm

PAT M: my two biggest plays, Utah and Missouri, were both winners. Terps and Vols both helped too. Nevada is looking bad. UOP can make it a good day or a wash.

  43. Betsy March 14th, 2009 at 11:39 pm

There was an attempted take-out slide on Jeter? Ok, I’m glad the USA lost and I hope they lose next out…………

GB, someone on another board mentioned that in Cano’s at bat today, he went back to his old stance…… Did you see that at bat and, if so, did you notice that? In any case, Cano had had success with that stance in his first couple of years, so I don’t know what was wrong with it…..

  44. 24 Score March 14th, 2009 at 11:41 pm

    1B – Pujols
    2B – Cano
    3B – ARod
    SS – Reyes
    LF – Manny
    CF – Hanley?
    RF – Vlad
    C – Olivo
    DH – Ortiz

    P – Volquez, Liriano, E. Santana, Jiminez
BP – Arredondo, Cruz, Marte, Soriano, Dotel, Valverde, R. Perez, Pena

Or the Venz team with the same lineup except Jesus Montero at catcher and Felix-Santana-Zombrano in the rotation. Need to find some relievers tho to get to K-Rod.

    ————————————————————

It looked like the same batting stance he had at the end of last year, when he was smoking the ball. Squared up at the plate, feet pretty much even. His numbers would have been much better last year, even with the slow start had he not hurt his hand/thumb on his left hand in August. He was ripping the ball and got jammed, leaving him with a deep bone bruise at the base of his thumb. When that healed, he starting hitting the ball like he always did. Doubles to left and homers to right center.

Nick in SF……I’m not certain if you’re watching this gaem, but Pacific is getting wacked right now…It’s early though….

GB, thanks! Regardless of how annoyed I am at the guy, Cano is just an outstanding hitter….hopefully everything will be ok.

    ————————————————————

You’re quite welcome, Betsy. As long as he hits, and he will hit like he always had, his fielding lapses will decrease, too. If people were to look back, most of his errors have been when he’s not hitting. He’s one of those guys that can’t seperate hitting problems from fielding problems. Hopefully, he’ll learn to seperate them. Some do and some can’t. It’s not always because “they are lazy”. I’ve seem what happened with him last year happen to all-time stars like Mantle and Willie Mays, and it got them benched, too.

  51. jennifer March 15th, 2009 at 2:33 am

Great pictures thanks!! I can’t wait to get there.

That picture of the seats with no safety bar looks so dangerous. I can’t see how they could have the seats with nothing behind them.

  52. Guru March 15th, 2009 at 7:58 am

Team USA did get smoked by Puerto Rico. WBC though is basically a joke though.

  53. Drew March 15th, 2009 at 10:03 am

This is the biggest load of crap. So because of the demand, we’re going to limit you even further in attempting to get tickets. Nice job guys!
