I’m thinking that a guy who’s coming off a year like Swisher had defintely needs to keep a low profile. Sure, he’s a better player than Nady, but his name just will never inspire confidence.

Swisher hits both sides pretty equally. He should play 50% of the time against righties in RF as Nady is a better hitter against lefties and 67% of the time against lefties in LF for Damon as JD hits righties better. Swisher could also pick up 3 games a month at DH to rest Matsui against a lefty because Matsui also hits righties better. People always mistakenly say that Matsui hits both sides equally, but this is simply untrue.

Therefore, if Swisher gets the above he would get over 400 AB’s and everyone will stay fresh and play at times they should be very productive. Of course if there is an injury that opens up more opportunity.

BTW, in this scenario Damon would have a just a few more AB’s than Nady who would have just a few more AB’s than Swisher.

I’m still not worried about the outfield saga that is Nady, Swisher, Gardner and Cabrera…like i’ve said before, spring training will basically decide who gets the chance to prove themselves first in the regular season…if the guy Girardi decides to put out in the field is not getting it done, then the other guy will be there to step in. If we get to August/September and Nady has been terrible but is still in the lineup for some reason, then everyone can get mad. But if we get to August/Sept. and Nady has been playing great in RF and hitting like he’s supposed to, then no one will even know who Swisher is anymore. These are obviously opposite ends of the spectrum but just making a point. I fully expect all 4 of the CF and LF’s contribute a lot to this season.

Jeter probably read this board the last few days and he wants to get back on the field ASAP. He’ll then hit a HR at his first at bat and all will be good in Yankeeland…ha

Does anyone know if there are several scalpers unloading tickets outside of the Big Stein during most of their Spring Training games? I might give it a shot tomorrow even though I currently don’t have tickets

Really bad move by Girardi, Swisher is far superior to Nady. It really isn’t even that close. Better fielder, more plate discipline, more power equals better player.

He has complained numerous times about A-Rod coverage but tweaks some lame comment (no offense intended to the post person) about an upcoming interview or past. Why?… Why does he feel the need… It seems a little bit weird or queer to me… just saying,
