Wonderful website, I recently came across it and I am already a fan. I just reduced my weight 30 pounds in thirty days, and I am excited to share my weight loss success with as many people as possible. If I can lose weight then any one can. No matter what you do, never quit and you WILL achieve all your weight loss ambitions!

IMO, the only important thing about Joba today was that he walked off the mound healthy. Other than that his stats/line/velocity are meaningless.

Again, JMO.

I saw nothing to worry about in Joba today.

In the first inning, he threw nothing but fast balls. He was clearly working on something, and the two HRs resulted. I don't see that as indicative of some deeper problem.

He mixed in the slider from the second on and did fine. He got in a little trouble in the fifth when the wind and Swisher played havoc on an easy fly to right, and came out when he hit his pitch limit.

Edwar and Coke both looked devastating today.

really dave? not saying youre wrong, but I dont recall too many being traded for at the trade deadline...no special ones for that matter that hwere just middle relievers with no closing experience.

If you can trade a decent center fielder for a middle relief pitcher, that's a good return.

When I heard Mike Francesa accept the invitation of Mets executive VP Dave Howard Wednesday to visit the dunk tank at Citi Field, I assumed one of two things:

That Francesa was kidding, or perhaps that he thought the invite was to be the dunker, not the dunkee.

I asked him about it Thursday. Turns out he was not kidding and that he is up for getting wet in public – for a cause.

“As long as it’s a nice, warm day and it would be for charity, I’ll gladly go in the tank,’’ he said.

Um, really? “I’m sure I will draw quite a crowd of Mets fans looking to dunk me. I’m looking forward to it.’’

What would he charge? “We’ll try to make it very steep for the media

"middle relief pitchers are a dime a dozen. very few are consistant from year to year..those that are become closers or dont get traded. There is virtually no trade market for middle relief pitchers."

Yep. Unless you're a proven commodity like a Marte or someone, middle relief has minimal value. You might get a filler prospect back thats about it.

Look at the Royals-- they trades away Ramon Ramirez (who had a better year than any of our relievers, not named Bruney) and all they got back was Coco Crisp. Ramirez is now going to be a late inning guy for Boston.

Might as well just hang on to the middle relievers... you will never get back proper value
