Today in The Journal News
The Yankees came through spring training in great shape physically. Well, if you don’t count A-Rod.
No roster decisions are expected until the team gets back to New York. This notebook also has items on Joba Chamberlain, Andy Pettitte, Brett Gardner and Mariano Rivera.
The Yankees and Mets have given their new ballparks even the “big flush” test. Sam Borden writes about the travails of moving into a new home.

Let’s hope this is a good sign for the rest of the season. If this team stays healthy, we can expect BIG things…

Oh, didn’t notice it was already over! >:-)
If anything happens from now on I will blame you personally! Hehe, j/k.
I nregard to the “Big Flush” article, I’m just curious, but when did it become common to call restrooms and lavatories “bathrooms”?
At one point, there was a photo making the Internet rounds that showed a row of seats at the new Yankee Stadium right up against the railing of the upper deck – in other words, a row of seats with literally no leg room. Trost said he’s seen the photo and has no idea where it came from. While he hasn’t sat in every seat in the Stadium, he has been in every section (more than once) and says the photo was likely a fabrication.
Interesting article by Sam.
M, thanks for mentioning the Sweeny bit. I may check it out, but I may not. I’ve never really liked him (I don’t think he adds anything – the only thing he’s good for, IMO, is defending his POV when Francesca attacks him) and he annoyed me yesterday with Joe and Evan when he made a big stink out of AJ’s performance against Pittsburgh (and he was the only one in the media to do so).

I think that the term “bathroom” in a stadium restroom has traditionally taken on that meaning after the 7th inning and beer sales have stopped.
Also, I didn’t click on the previously posted link to ESPN’s Yankees preview. I’m tired of reading negative crap on the team when they judge the Sox/Rays and everyone else to different standards. The Yankees are going to shut everyone up this year.
Also, avoid the NY Post at all costs – George King is at it with Joba/velocity issue. I’m not about to read that article, but it’s the first story they have on the Yankees this morning, lol
oh please don’t jinx the physical shape of the team!!!
Well, not at all costs, lol – here is a nice piece on Cano:

Jeter was just on good morning america about a new “we play” charity…
I’m curious as to the differences in conditioning/running between spring training last season and this season. last year everyone made a big deal about how Girardi was big on a lot of running and having every player in great shape. I know he’s relaxed a little on the food restrictions in the club house, but has he relaxed at all on the running and extreme conditioning from last year to this year?
any chance last season the extra running and conditioning actually ended up being a negative in terms of contributing to injuries? or were the extensive injuries last year just a freak thing?
The bathrooms at new Yankee Stadium do have me a slight bit concerned. I mean, there is no way to test that seventh inning, everyone’s already had a few beers, run off to the bath room stress is there?
so who actually uses the words lavatory and restroom?
aside from looking for a sign in a public place, it’s bathroom all the time. it doesn’t matter that there are no baths…
I’m glad Wang is healthy, but I wish he had pitched more effectively in spring training. I’m still worried that the injury may be affecting his pitching.
