Rishi, thanks for that link. Michael Kay agreed with Derek Jeter about the size of the locker room and facilities. He said that it will be hard to interview players during pre and post game because there are so many places for them to hide.
Yeah I don’t think there is video of the players walking into the stadium last night
I doubt media members were hanging around a dark stadium in the rain last night waiting for the players (most of them ad flights from Tampa anyway)… thats what this afternoon was supposed to be for, to find out their reaction a day later.
On today’s ESPN Baseball Podcast, Eric Karabell ripped the Yankees yet again. He said that BOS would win the World Series and that he’d take Dice K over AJ. Peter Pascarelli was a little better, saying that he thinks that too many people are under estimating our rotation. I can’t wait for us to prove these people wrong.
That players’ clubhouse is too gorgeous and high-tech for a champagne celebration. Maybe the Yankees will do it on the field? Or maybe they’ll use another room – maybe they even have a special room, “the Celebration Room.” How much plastic can you hang?! And how do you protect that carpet? And the video screens?
I’m really serious, folks. This is not your ordinary locker room here.
If they can afford 1.5 billion for the Stadium …I think they can afford a carpet cleaner after that champagne celebration… ). I for one hope it gets soaked over and over…after each playoff win.

CBSsportsline had every “expert” pick the sox to win the East, they also all picked the sox to win the AL. The good news for us is that the “experts” are wrong about 100% of the time.
3 out of 4 also picked the Cubs to get to the WS. It seems that almost every writer has rooted for a Cubs-sox series for forever, for whatever reason. I guess they just salivate over the ready made stories in the two most historically futile franchises meeting for the championship.
YESNetwork After today’s batting practice at the new Stadium, some Yanks are saying that righties will have a tougher time hitting it out in this park
Fran
————————————————————
Sounds like the main one to be affected by that would be Nady. Rodriguez is moreright field to left center. Everybody else seems to hit more to right/right center.
In case anyone noticed it looks like all the players we lost in the Rule V draft all are coming back to the Yanks, not suprising but I remember some were worried when a few got picked up
“some Yanks are saying that righties will have a tougher time hitting it out in this park”
Tough break for Xavier. Good thing Jeter stopped hitting homers a few years ago (and half go the opposite way anyway). And as long as Alex is still “loosey-goosey”, it won’t matter anyway.
“That’s for another day. Dry runs are set for tomorrow night and Saturday afternoon, and Swisher already picked up on a nuance different from across the street: the wind. Even though this place is one block away and facing the same direction, balls hit into the outfield was moving more towards the right.”
Only one “expert” correctly picked more than 1 of the AL’s playoff teams (in proper position) – Jonah Kerry. He had the Yanks, Indians, Angels, and BoSox as Wild Card.
I concur with Nick in SF. I too pick the Yankees to win everything and everyone. Ok on to more important matters. Nick, where are you catching the game on Saturday. I’m gonna watch the Arsenal game at Danny Coyles for sure. Might stay there for the Yankees game as well, but it might get taken over by Tar Heel hooligans. Aces? Kezar?

Fran – can you imagine the World Series celebration in that locker room at the end of this season? Going to turn it into a dance floor.
man this looks nice! I can’t wait to go this summer when I visit. Saturday is going to be great. Arsenal in the morning and Yankees at 10am. WOOOT!!!
you rule pete
Thanks Rish – I hope we get more players’ reactions – I thought there would be more.
Mehdi: you’re an Arsenal fan too? That makes at least two Arsenal/Yankee fans here in SF.
good stuff, thanks for all the updates, great to know what’s going on daily or in most cases hourly
Does the link above work for anybody? Doesn’t seem to work for me.
worked fine for me
I wonder if AROD is going to ask for two lockers? One for himself and the other for his mirror.
Im joking lol
raymagnetic
Didn’t work for me but I went to the Lohud.com homepage and clicked on it there and it worked.
Russ – I can imagine that World Series celebration!
Doesn’t seem to work for me
Thanks Pat. I tried your method but it still doesn’t work for me.
Guess I’ll have to wait til I get home to look at it.
“There are fewer ads in the park than in the 30s through the 50’s. :Hit it here and win a suit.”, “Ballentine Beer”, “Smoke Luckies”.”
Personally, I’d like to see Gardner hit the Bull and win a Steak.
You know you are in trouble when Mike Francesa starts talking Lady Gaga

lady gaga, what a waste of time
i guess when you have your own show you can talk about whatever you want, esp when you are as big as mike.
obsessed with gaga
Great videos Sam, thanks!
at least 2morrow i can get a little baseball in my veins
yeah that was pretty random
Does anyone know if the stands are wireless too?
this is the low point before baseball begins…yawwwnn

Oh crap, I never organized the “when will Brett Gardner hit his first major league home run?” pool.

but….does it have fish in the floor?
vinny-b -
What? Fish in the floor? I no understand!
Yanksgal -
I guess if they’re winning a WS, that would pay for a carpet cleaning.

Doreen, I’m sure that Yankee management would love to have that problem.

well – considering most are saying Nady’s probably not going ot be there through the season – looks like more of an advantage than a disadvantage

Barbershop 2 reference, doreen.
Thanks Tom…
I saw a lot of Braves, Indians and Tigers on that list… with a smattering of the Yanks’ whipping boys, the Mariners.
Good thing about the internet is with minimal research one can make anyone look like an idiot.
wonder what Tim Kirk. predicted for the Yankees this year? He is truly the class of ESPN
“That’s for another day. Dry runs are set for tomorrow night and Saturday afternoon, and Swisher already picked up on a nuance different from across the street: the wind. Even though this place is one block away and facing the same direction, balls hit into the outfield was moving more towards the right.”

espn’s al predictions come out tomorrow
Tim Kurkjian usually picks us to win, but he’s been getting burned these last few years so I’m expecting him to go either BOS or TB.
I wonder who Peter Gammons will choose.

scroll down for a melky/brett pic – the are miles apart on the bench and not even looking at each other
Official Nick in SF predictions come out right now: Yankees.
Only one “expert” correctly picked more than 1 of the AL’s playoff teams (in proper position) – Jonah Kerry. He had the Yanks, Indians, Angels, and BoSox as Wild Card.
