I live in Charleston, so it'll be great to see all these big prospects in Riverdogs uniforms for the first time on Thursday, when they play the Rome Braves.

How about a statue of a hypodermic needle? That about sums up this latest crop of Yankees, especially when you compare them to those legends.
No offense to Jeter and Mo, but I'm not immortalizing any of the steroid-era players. I appears at some point, someone will write a story about every player's performance-enhancing drug adventures.

99 players have homered in their first ML AB. Only one player, Bob Neiman has ever hit homers in his first two ML AB. In his first game, Neiman homered in his first two at bats for the St. Louis Browns in 1951.

Some other foolish predictions:

AL MVP - Evan Longoria (Teixeira will be up there)
NL MVP - Hanley Ramirez (or David Wright)
AL CY - Jon Lester (or CC)
NL CY - Chad Billingsley (look out for Josh Johnson)
AL ROY - Matt Wieters (unbelievable player)
NL ROY - Jason Motte (tough choice, Cameron Maybin could break out)
AL Batting Champion - Justin Morneau
NL Batting Champion - Albert Pujols
