So I guess that is good news?

  2. Mark April 11th, 2009 at 10:30 pm

    Good news?

  3. Psyluk April 11th, 2009 at 10:32 pm

Tendinitis is a term that physicians use when they can’t figure out what’s wrong with someone. It’s probably just a little wrist soreness that will go away with time. If it was anything more serious, they’d get a precautionary MRI on it.

  4. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:33 pm

I guess he just slept on it wrong?

  5. m April 11th, 2009 at 10:33 pm

Okay, I can live with that if Mark can. As long as nothing’s wrong with the sheath or whatever Ortiz had.

  6. vikram April 11th, 2009 at 10:34 pm

i guess swisher will be in the outfield?

  7. Al from BK April 11th, 2009 at 10:35 pm

Tendinitis eh day to day injury he’ll live.

  8. jay destro April 11th, 2009 at 10:36 pm

giving damon a day off before going to tampa would be best, keep the hot hand going wish swish

  9. Scorpio April 11th, 2009 at 10:37 pm

I thought tendinitis was Yankee code for something bad.

  10. Kelly Leak April 11th, 2009 at 10:38 pm

    sounds like a hairline fracture.

  11. Betsy April 11th, 2009 at 10:39 pm

Tendonitis always sounds bad – is this something that can just be cured with rest?

  12. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Joe said he is day to day, than said our plan is to play him tomorrow. than said we’ll see how he is tomorrow. UGH Joe.

  13. Mark April 11th, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Kelly Leak: Where in the hell did u get Hairline fracture from?

  14. S.A.--It's a marathon, not a sprint April 11th, 2009 at 10:40 pm

    He will survive

  15. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:41 pm

GRR wouldn’t commit to playing Swish tomorrow. damn you Joe.

  16. Kelly Leak April 11th, 2009 at 10:41 pm

last year Joba’s so called tendinitis forced him to miss a big chunk of the season.

  17. pat April 11th, 2009 at 10:41 pm

A couple of Tylenol to deal with inflamation and he’s good to go.

  18. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:46 pm

Last 3 games 1.35 starting era.

  19. m April 11th, 2009 at 10:46 pm

Hmmm. Tough choice. I would say sit Matsui, but he got on base today so maybe best to let him DH again. I would definitely rest Teixeira a little bit longer, we want him there for the Yankee opener and I would hate for this wrist thing to get worse.

Maybe Johnny gets his rest tomorrow.

GB, thanks for the updates. Great night for Jackson – I’m pulling for him not just because he’s our top position prospect, but because he’s apparently a great kid.

    ————————————————————

My pleasure, Betsy. The best thing with Jackson tonight was no strikouts.

  21. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:49 pm

    Alanis playing the background.

    jennifer,

I’m think of stopping the Lakers one. They update after every quarter and sometimes send “newsflashes” that aren’t really news.

I’ll dig up the # for the update on demand. Then you can use it when you’re not near the computer and you’ll stay under the limit.

    GB7,

That Tejeda? He was a starter no
    ——————————————————————————————
Texas bounced him between the rotation and relief. He was originally a Phillie and they did the same thing. His issues were always walks and home runs. Great arm, though.

  23. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:50 pm

Johnny’s funny. Said it took Nick a long to get to third, hopefully that doesn’t mean we do more conditioning next spring.

I guess he also forgot he doesn’t have a contract through next year with the Yankees. :D

  24. m April 11th, 2009 at 10:51 pm

Thanks, GB. Remember that he and Padilla were the 2 bright spots for Texas pitching.

  25. Christina April 11th, 2009 at 10:51 pm

Does anyone know who is starting tomorrow for the Royals? If it is a right hander I would assume that is why they are comfortable with starting Teixiera as he stated he was noticing the pain when he was batting right-handed.

Yeah, they were supposed to slide in behind Millwood in the rotation. Tejeda just doesn’t have the stamina or the number of pitches to start. Still young, though. He’s only 27.

  27. Jason April 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

Give Teix another day off… we need him right handed against Kazmir on Monday more than we need him tomorrow.

  28. m April 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

    Gil Meche.

  29. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

    Menche starts.

  30. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:53 pm

m- Any luck with text message number.

  31. GreenBeret7 April 11th, 2009 at 10:54 pm

Gil Meche is starting for KC, tomorrow.

  32. Russell NY April 11th, 2009 at 10:54 pm

    From About.com on tendinitis:

If treated early, tendonitis can improve quickly. Steroid injection or anti-inflammatory medications can be used in most cases. More serious tendonitis may require surgery.

If you experience symptoms, the first thing to do is to alter the activities which caused the symptoms and let the wrists rest and recover.

  33. m April 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

I’ll go look for it now. What did you mean by it only gives you addresses now?

  34. Betsy April 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

I think I’d prefer that Tex not play tomorrow as he could aggravate the injury diving for balls, etc….

  35. Christina April 11th, 2009 at 10:55 pm

    thanks guys.

  36. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm

m- I used to be able to text New York Yankees score to google. and I would get the yankees score. Now all I get is street addresses.

  37. Frank April 11th, 2009 at 10:56 pm

let swish play first and tex dh

  38. Russell NY April 11th, 2009 at 10:57 pm

“last year Joba’s so called tendinitis forced him to miss a big chunk of the season.”

Joba is a young pitcher so of course. Tex is a switch hitter that can bat from his other side and let it heal. Plus Tex throws right so it won’t be affected there.

  39. Kelly Leak April 11th, 2009 at 10:58 pm

I’m an idiot. Please ignore me. I like to make things up and stuff like that. If you pay attention to me, you’re only feeding the troll.

Oh great, now I’m being impersonated.

  42. Betsy April 11th, 2009 at 10:59 pm

That is good news, GB. I’m sure Jackson will still have his moments, but all we are looking for throughout the season is progress.

Russell, thanks. I’m glad Tex decided not to play through it like so many players would. It doesn’t appear serious, though I would definitely give him a few days off.

  43. gayle April 11th, 2009 at 10:59 pm

I would guess they are waiting to figure out Swish for tomorrow until they know about Tex. I also think that Jorge probably has the day off tomorrow with a day game after a night game and taking it easy for him in April so that also may play into it.

  44. Trevor April 11th, 2009 at 11:00 pm

Joba might not have it tomorrow. Hasn’t pitched in a while.

  45. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 11:01 pm

    Do I just text score?

  46. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 11:02 pm

He pitched a minor league game the other day.

  47. m April 11th, 2009 at 11:02 pm

Oooh. It worked. I just found out the Yankees won 6-1!

  48. NDYANKEE April 11th, 2009 at 11:02 pm

    itis= inflammation
    Tendinitis= inflammation of a tendon
Usually caused by overuse following lack of use.
I had it in my elbow a couple times when I played in hs. It was unbelievably debilitating for me for a while but it can be worked through

  49. m April 11th, 2009 at 11:03 pm

“New york yankees score” worked for me. In the middle of a game, it’ll show the line score.

  50. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

    m-

Oh you have me the google number, I guess now it only works at the end of the game? I used to be able to text while the game was going on and get updates.

  51. m April 11th, 2009 at 11:06 pm

    jennifer,

So in the middle of the game it doesn’t show the line score? Just gives you the address, so you have to go the game to find out the score? :P

  53. Al from BK April 11th, 2009 at 11:07 pm

Tex is an Iron Man he’ll be playing if he is allowed I could even tell today that he was squirming on the bench.

  54. Boston Dave April 11th, 2009 at 11:11 pm

that diagnosis doesnt tell much but the fact that he’s playing tomorrow is a great sign.

tendonitis can last months or days. i guess in this case it’s days.

    phew

Before Ransom’s error, we were the only team in the majors to not make an error.

    And the Andy/Mo win/save combo (56) is 1 away from tying Eckersly/Welch (57).

    (from brian hoch’s blog.

  59. m April 11th, 2009 at 11:41 pm

oh, that lmgtfy was a joke?

  60. RustyJohn April 11th, 2009 at 11:46 pm

That can mean just about anything because there is no indication how serious it is- I was diagnosed with it 9 years ago and was told to take some time off from work and take some anti-inflammatory meds. Nine years later I still have it and need surgery to repair it- thankfully I no longer do manual labor for a living so it is just an annoyance. If they start sitting him against lefties all the time you know it hasn’t healed.

  61. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 11:49 pm

Did I ever tell anyone how much I hate ticketmaster? I don’t remember my password, so I reset it, and what they sent me doesn’t work. So I can’t check the status of an order.

  62. jennifer April 11th, 2009 at 11:54 pm

I am going to hit the roof. I just called the automated number and it doesn’t recognize my order number. Of course no one is there!!

  63. espresso April 12th, 2009 at 12:10 am

Ya ticket master sucks. The “convenience fee” makes me so damn mad. Then an extra charge for etickets, which has to cost them less to provide. It’s extra that the fees are per ticket not order. A great big “screw you! No, screw you twice!”

On positive note, Swish is looking like a beast at the plate. He has to stay in the lineup. That trade is looking pretty good right now.
