Personally I don’t give a hoot what #13 does off the field, in his car, in his plane, in Miami, with Madonna, with a stripper, with Britney freakin’ Spears for all i care…

If he drives in 120 runs a year and plays solid defense while scoring 100+ runs and hitting around .300….he could be naked on the bottom of a pile of cheerleaders, wouldn’t bother me a bit.

If Jeter made a statement about recommitting himself we’d read about what a great blah blah improving himself while hurt blah blah practically invented baseball blah blah.

But let A-Rod try to take a page from Jeter’s book platitudes and the Petes of the world will make snide comments.

Pete is right, there is no winning with some people. A-Rod could cure cancer but he would just point out all the people who died because he didn’t cure it last year.

my feeling when watching the red sox is that are not the big bad team they used to be without manny /ortiz at the center of things. theo really is building a different team there and he has to have some 50/50 bets pay off for them to be really good.

he’s betting on catcher,shortstop,centerfield, the 5th starter, and that there will be some good players available in a buyer’s market come the trading deadline to spend some of that cash he’s holding.

he’s also hoping that the yankees rotation doesn’t stay healthy because if they do he’ll be forced to make some changes before he’d like to.

CB. Thanks for asking. This was my 14th in a row. I complain for two months about spending 30k on my seats every season and when I fly home I tell Amy it is worth every penny. I catch up with guys I went to BC with and other friends that we only see a few times a year. Great baseball chatter and time goes lightly. The funniest line of the the trip was a one of my buddies asked a friend who has put on some pounds…”how the hell did you convince Warren Sapp to let you borrow his jeans”…

Hola:

I can care less if people agree or disagree with Pete. That’s obviously what this blog is for. But it does get tiresome to see people tell Pete what he can and can’t write about. They actually tell him what he should and shouldnt be writing about. Those are people that just dont grasp the concept of a blog. I usually dont get caught up in these types of conversations – so this will be my last post on the matter.
