Bernie was on the Fox Business Network on Monday and talked about how he wants to keep playing. “I would love to. I think I will probably be saying that at 75 as well,” he said. “There obviously will be some skepticism — taking a chance on a person who has been out of the game for two years.”
Bernie also appeared on Good Day NY and played a song.

I’m going to illegally download it.
Damn that is a packed schedule.
I saw Bernie jam with the Allmans. Man he was “blazin’”, chuckle chuckle.
Bernie is everywhere
If Bernie was so serious about playing again, he would be putting 100% effort into a baseball regimen, and not promoting a CD & touring. I’m just saying.
Hey Bernie, Nady is hurt. Maybe the Yanks will call.
Nothing better than waking up to see the Sox blew that game last night in extra innings.
2-6 can’t feel that good.
Manny was the Straw that stirred the drink.
Love you Bernie but the music always seems to be high on the cheesy scale. Maybe this one is different

I felt the same way. It’s easy to say it when they are struggling but it does look like they miss Manny.
Sox blew the game?
And the never ending quagmire of Boston shortstops continues ….

“Sox blew the game?”
Pretty much. But the wind was a huge factor all night.
Waiting for info on Nady….
Tick

Tick
We’ll probably hear about Nady later this afternoon. Patience is a virtue =)
Longoria won’t be in today’s lineup as he has returned home to CA for family matters.
Bernie on FirstTake
I’m going to Bernie’s show at the Nokia Theater after the game on Saturday. I’m in the Orchestra seating and hoping maybe some of his old “buddies” show up …
).
Go Yankees 2009 !!!
Bernie would play guitar on the bus and piss off Jeter while trying to sleep.
Hahaha. Love hearing old stories from Bernie. I wish he wrote a tell-all about the dynasty through his eyes.
Hopefully everything works out with Nady and he is only out for a short period of time.
Goooood morning, guys!
Hope things are okay for Mama Damon & Monsiuer Nady.
Rebecca,
The Sox game was almost as good as the Yankees game. Big Papi had bases juiced (pun intended) and popped out behind the 1B/2B/CF area.
The ump, though was horrible. Whoever that is, I don’t want to see him behind the plate. The tv crew noted that since the beginning of the game, the zone had changed north & south, east & west. He screwed the Sox, but it seemed like he jerked the A’s more. Matt Holliday had 2 called strikes that were off the plate, and then he got wrung up on a legit strike. But everyone was griping with the ump.
Ziegler’s their closer. I think he’s the one that had so many consecutive scoreless innings as a rookie. He has this extreme sidearm delivery, but he didn’t look very good. The ump didn’t help, but he’s already blown 1 save out of 3 opportunities.
So, the story of the game was ump, Big Poopi, and Ziegler. Oh, and the Boston offense. There was a point early on in the game where 5 Boston starters were below the Mendoza line. Some good hitting brought a couple averages up, and they did fight back when they were down 5-3. I just hope the scuffle a bit more, while we get some traction.
Buster’s Blog – didn’t realize that about the scouting:
A.J. Burnett was dominant against the Rays on Tuesday night. It’ll be interesting to see how the Rays position their outfielders in Wednesday’s game against Brett Gardner because the Yankees’ center fielder twice drove the ball over the head of a wide-ranging Tampa Bay outfielder — first, Gardner slammed a double over Carl Crawford, and later, he slammed an extra-base hit over center fielder B.J. Upton.
• The Yankees, by the way, have changed the way they do their advance scouting. Rather than hiring full-time scouts to trail the teams the Yankees are about to play, a lot of the advance-scouting work is being done by the current coaching staff through the use of video.

No more Manny Bailout.
for us nutmeggers like pete, what time is Bernie at the FYE in Milford today?
6pm FYE in milford.
in that picture he looks like Dr. Manhattan from The Watchmen when he’s going to do the TV interview
Looking at the title of the CD and watching the video of Bernie singing “Take Me Out…” in an empty Yankee Stadium seems like watching his way of saying good bye to the game. I wish him all the best in his new career as a musician. His first album is solid. He’s no Wes Montgomery, but it’s very listenable. I play it at parties sometimes and people always are surprised when they find out who’s playing.
