I didn’t get #7 about the battery dispenser in the bleachers.

Most of the others seem pre-occupied with bathroom facilities, ARod and steroids.

I liked the one about no corporate seats in the upper deck.

I guess I just don’t have that “Letterman” sense of humor. :)

Battery dispenser in the outfield bleachers
    Stephen P., King City, CA

Due to a recession, only has two bases
    Richard V., Avondale, PA

    These two were the best.

doreen- People would throw batteries on the field. I’m not sure how many times it happened.

    LOL
    Some of those are good

    Interesting article about the facade.

I said a Madonna one would be #1. Letterman has been obsessed with her forever.

  7. jennifer April 15th, 2009 at 9:11 am

Since a rough outing on opening day, Brian Bruney has worked four perfect innings with eight strikeouts.

Thanks for the explanation. Now, I get it, and I think it’s a good one. I forgot to say I liked the two bases one, also.

“doreen- People would throw batteries on the field. I’m not sure how many times it happened.”

I thought that was only Philadelphia fans :)

Bruney did look great today. Losing some weight and spiffing up his hair/beard didn’t hurt.

    1. Completely lacking in wit.

    2. No contributions from actual New Yorkers.

    Are those two related???

What else can be expected from David Lettergoof ?

Did they use any of the ones from your readers, Pete? If yes, which ones?

  14. number 2 for prez April 15th, 2009 at 9:58 am

IMO, they all sucked…. I bet us commenters could come up with 10 better ones!

  15. Ryan (Im just waiting till the shine wears off) April 15th, 2009 at 10:30 am

I assumed there would be at least 3 arod ones if Pete suggested that we read it.

  16. Yanksgal07 April 15th, 2009 at 10:30 am

Didn’t really care for the Top Ten…except for the two bases one. I read much funnier ones earlier in the week from some of the readers on this site.

Nice game last night …what a difference a day makes. I’ll be at Opening Day (Friday & Saturday too). Unfortunately I’m missing AJ & Pavano on Sunday …bummer. I hope we christen the new Stadium with a big win which hopefully sets the tone for the rest of the season.

    Go Yankees 2009 !!!

Ross Ohlendorf got a shout out on Letterman last night. Category was “Top Ten Things to Ask Before Become a Somali Pirate” and number 4 was “Will I get along with Ross Ohlendorf? (Oh wait, that’s things to ask before I become a Pittsburgh Pirate.)”

  18. saucY April 15th, 2009 at 11:46 am

meh. i was a little disappointed. i thought the one pete sent in (and others read in the comments here) were better…

  19. Drew April 15th, 2009 at 11:49 am

That was a good job. Most were funny.

  20. ANTHONY April 15th, 2009 at 11:57 am

    They all were bad

  21. Much Ado about Something April 15th, 2009 at 12:09 pm

I rarely see much funny in any of his lists anyway. This didn’t change the opinion at all.

It has really gotten old and stale, just like Letterman.

  22. GZA April 15th, 2009 at 1:47 pm

#10′s the only truly funny one. Though it’s not really Yankee-specific.

  23. Bill April 15th, 2009 at 2:37 pm

They’re funny for people who hate the Yankees :-) .

  24. Jay Waldman April 15th, 2009 at 4:00 pm

That was absolutely horrible. Mostly non Yankee Fans. It’s all about hating us instead of looking at the Class Organization that we are. Did anyone notice that on Opening Day when the O’s were introducing the Yankees the PA system played Beck’s “I’m a Loser” You can’t get much worse than that they have no class at all. You will NEVER hear that at the Stadium.

Terrible. Whoever wrote these needs to go to Soulwow.com now.
