For comparison's sake: what do the Knicks charge for Courtside seats, or the Rangers for seats on the glass?

Peter,

Love the blog, and would love to have your job. Let me know whenever you want to switch...I am a psychologist in new york. You can sit and listen to people complain about their problems all day, while I enjoy the stadium

"Finally, for a 21st century stadium to have as many poor or obstructed sightlines (try sitting in my seats in 305) is just inexcusable."

Reason: They just didn't care about anyone else except the ridiculously expensive seats. They didn't miss a beat when it came to them.

"I think 99% of the people here would pay $2500 a seat if they could afford it."

Actually, no. I work for a hedge fund and one of my directors had Field Champ season tickets for years. Upon seeing the price of his tix jump from $220 to $850, he cancelled his renewal in a NY minute. He could certainly afford the increase, but just outright refused to pay those prices PER TICKET for a baseball game.

Peter you seriously need to get off this Ohlendorf topic. Did you not watch him pitch for us last year? And the year before? Not to mention the fact that there's no way he was going to be a starting pitcher for us. Not to mention he's pitching in the NL Central now compared to the AL East. Not to mention he had over a 6.50 ERA for us in 2008. Not to mention he still has over a 6.30 ERA this year with the Pirates. Like seriously, do you just have theories and hold onto them no matter what happens? You said the same thing awhile back when Ohlendorf had one good outing. So basically, you ignore the 20 starts that are terrible and just come out and back him the one time he has a good start.

"The moral of the story: Study harder in school and you can get a job that involves limos and gin and tonics at 7:30, not dodging trucks in the rain and kicking metal grates in the Bronx."

FYI, I went to law school and I'm kicking metal gates and dodging trucks on the Deegan, getting home from Bronx Supreme and Bronx Criminal court :)

Try Night Arraignments in Manhattan some time. Best cheap date entertainment on a Friday night.

Funny story, george Falkowski who works as a reporter for News12 new jersey sports used to know Susan Waldmyn from his Boston days. He once told me that she was known as the BJ queen by everyone in the media up there. The story is true.

The Yankee hierarchy can't wait too much longer to deal with the $2,500 seats. Give the people a refund that have used them thus far and move on.
The unoccupied seats are being talked about more each day by visiting media making the otherwise great structure seem tainted.
It remains to be seem how those seats will affect crowd noise for rallies.
No doubt the structural flaws are noted and will be dealt with sooner than later in particular with a more visable Monument Park, obstructed views, speaker system, and the wind to right field problem which may not be resolved until the old Stadium is gone among other types of wind currents that play into it.
