Early work at Fenway Park

Posted by: Peter Abraham - Posted in Misc on Apr 24, 2009 Print This Post Print This Post | Email This Post Email This Post

As they usually do before the first game on a road series, the Yankees are here early taking batting practice and getting some work in.

Let’s see who we can see … Pena, Cabrera, Gardner Cano, Posada, Jeter, Ransom, Swisher. That looks like it.

Keep in mind that every player has a different routine. Just because somebody isn’t put early doesn’t mean he’s a dog. Some guys lift or run in the afternooon or prefer to hit in the cage, etc.

I think Ransom or Pena flirts with the Monstah tonight. It’s always the guy you don’t expect, except when it isn’t.

Ransom is a lefty masher. He is 1-2 with a double off Lester too.

    Big night for him

Looking forward to the series this weekend. Let’s keep in mind Yankees fanatics, this series does NOT “make or break” the season.
This is NOT a litmus test at all.

Go get ‘em Joba. Pitch well and get the win tonight

Well Pete, I went to the other side and now I feel…..dirty.

It just confirmed I have no interest at anything Red Sox unless it involves them all dying of a bad case of Gonorrhea.

If it’s alway a guy you don’t expect and you know to expect it, then isn’t it a guy you expected?

    AHHH

If the Yankees are loosing tonight at lease I will be entertained by the bridge Jumpers on this blog :)

What’s the matter with you Pete, you didn’t say A-rod was working out early. IS IT BECAUSE YOU HATE HIM?!?!

Obviously i know A-rod is on the DL and am just making fun of all the over sensitive people on this site who cannot handle when you poke fun at A-rod.

    Nick

I said the same thing about Ransom. He could use a good weekend.

the sox blog, surprised I even bothered, did a semi interesting look at batters getting hit by pitches from both teams; I found it rather hilarious, for years and years it seemed like jeter was constantly getting hit while no one on the sox did, specifically ortiz, who seemed to never even get brushed back. Now Joba throws near youk a few times and they’re moaning? I’ll be laughing when Joba backs youk off the plate

Question: Are the Yankees on My9 or YES tonight? And then it’s Fox and then ESPN?
    Thanks.

i Just read on the RAB site that Pete is a sox fan!! umm is That True?

  20. DocBooch April 24th, 2009 at 3:16 pm

@James, I was thinking the same thing. How come they don’t chronicle how many Yankees have gotten hit from the Red Sox….I’d bet it has been more.

  21. westchester April 24th, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Wow-They really like you in Beantown-must be beacause you’re a Pats fan!

Why does Pete’s last name get posts caught in the filter?

Is it “unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic, profane or indecent information of any kind”?

  23. Nick in SF April 24th, 2009 at 3:17 pm

I also think Ransom is a joke – I say 0 for 4 with 4Ks though. Brandon is being nice.

“Why does Pete’s last name get posts caught in the filter?”

It’s biblical. Don’t even try the round the horn double play of
    Shadrach to Meshach to Abednego.

  34. JohnC April 24th, 2009 at 3:23 pm

Wonder if Melky is in CF tonight with Lester going and Gardner on the bench.

the ransom hatred is the type of thing that gives yankee fans a bad name.

i heard some clown ragging on Ransom when i was at sunday’s game. i said to myself “yeah, let’s get on Cody Ransom’s case” (sarcastically, of course). but i guess it was louder than i thought. i got a chuckle out some of the people near me…
