If you go back and look at his year by year by game numbers, he's had maybe 7 bad April games. He's had Aprils with 4 wins and 6 wins, and Aprils with 0 wins with games of allowing 0-2 runs. He's also had some ugly games like this year's but, not many. When they were ugly, they were really ugly. when the calendar turns to May, he gets hot. Talking about how he needed to step up because he's getting #1 pitcher money. Hello? What about the guy that's getting paid plus-#1 pitcher money? Why does CC continue to get a pass when he's pitched good in 1/4 of his starts and AJ gets reamed because we lost 1/4 of his starts? Poor hitting with runners in scoring position not getting people in from 3rd with less than 2 outs. Getting shut down by 5th starters. Tomorrow is a new day, hopefully the Yanks can get back to playing some good baseball. Starters need to step up in this series or the Yankees are going to have to DL relievers with arm fatigue.
