I don't know if you guys remember but Don Mattingly had no power in the minor leagues. Anything could happen to anyone. Maybe Jackson will develop more home run power. Maybe he'll learn to hit it to right field and get home runs on pop flies.

Jackson is not going to be a power hitter...but he'll definitely get a lot of doubles. I'd say in his prime maybe 45 doubles 20 homers and the Yanks would be very happy. It seems as if they're grooming him to be a high average, all-fields line-drive hitter. And the on base skills are coming.

There doesn’t seem to be much pitching at the AAA level this year. Four SWB regulars are batting 350 or better.

Everybody that has a pulse is now in the majors. A ton of pitching injuries already this year.

Youkilis hits a 2R homer off Howell. In Tampa BP means Batting Practice.

I hope they tie it and they play 15 innings :D.

I am liking DLR’s command this year. We already knew he could get people to miss.

------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, this was only his third start...14 innings, so 4 walks isn't bad. Still has a few WP but, that's because his pitches move so much...and hard. 22 strikeouts and 9 hits. Not bad for a guy that only been pitching for less than two years.

Why isin’t Austin Jackson showing any power?

------------------------------------------------------------

Jackson isn't a power hitter. He's a line drive and gap hitter. as long as he cuts down on his strikeouts, catches everything, gets his walks and steals bases, the home runs can wait. He's also right handed, so stop thinking that he's going to be an annual 25-30 home run hitter.
