I finally realized why Selena Roberts is so unhappy and hateful. Unfortunately, I accidentally saw her on TV.

If it was widely known that ARod had approval to call pitches, then a lot of people would know exactly how he did it. The information that Selena said she "Verified" with other sources were only about how he did it. How did she "verify" through her great investigative work that there were players that he was tipping to for quid pro quo?

On top of that, I can see a lot of misconstrued information coming from other players like Shane Spencer that "overheard" something about a quid pro quo. I can't believe this was even reported on.

"If Ortiz doesn’t come around, how much trouble are the Sox in? In other words, how important is he to their overall success or is there someone else more important to them making the playoffs?"

Maybe they need to find a new source of 'Dominican Milkshakes"? Maybe Selena Roberts or one of her 'sources' can point them in the right direction?

Agreed with SJ (and 80% of the population) - "I don't understand why people write books like this" is just a simple statement of his thoughts.

What the heck's wrong with me saying I don't understand why someone would write a book like this other than revenge, money and/or blackmail? I really don't understand why. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with SAYING that?

IMO it's less of an infringement on the first amendment than any person (or journalist) trying to twist it into one. I mean, if they're to get/coerce Girardi to say something other than his valid opinion (or lack of seeing any sense in her motive) by implying his view undermines our constitution and therefore letting Girardi know they'll make him out to be a bad guy when he doesn't give them the right answer in their opinion, aren't they doing it themselves to an extent?

Wait .. there I went and did it.

Tipping pitches ?
Anybody that understands the games knows that it's a game of an intricate network of signals. The catcher is not necessarily giving the final signal to his pitcher and it can change from inning to inning as to who will give it. It can start in the dugout and stream from there.
The same applies on offense with the 3rd base coach. No guarantee he gives the full signal. It could be the 1st base coach or the on deck hitter.
At the start of every series, the manager and coaches go over a whole new series of signals.
Books have been written on the subject.
