The good news is that I haven't seen any team yet that is clearly head and shoulders above any other team. The bad news is that there are a lot of teams that can field a competitive team on any given night. The real problem in my opinion is that this team will have lots of holes to fill in the next 1-3 years because of declining skills and age. They have no sure fire can't miss prospects in the minors and their track record with signing fill in players is demonstrably weak. They need to win this year or they need to find a new GM that can bring a fresh perspective to building a roster. I believe the Yankees will be competitive this year.
