"How did it go from muscle spasm in his finger to an aneurism in his armpit? Was that a misdiagnosis? Did he have more symptoms?"

Sounds like a misdiagnosis but, there is probably more to it than we know. I still don't get how they did those MRI's and didn't find anything then a week later they review an MRI and see it. That medical staff is lucky they caught it sooner rather than later. Hopefully everything will be alright. I read that David Cone talked to him

Sabathia pitched a great game. Cervelli did a good job, was the bench calling the game or him?

By the way, to those who don't know, Cervelli has always been a great defensive catcher. Before his wrist injury most thought of him as a solid backup in the majors which is probably what he'll be. He can hit for a little average but he has no power and he's still really really raw with the bat.

I think he will benefit from regular at-bats in the majors. He probably won't crack .200 for long but in the long run it will help him. Give him a taste of the majors then send him back down when either Molina or Posada is healthy.

I'm happy for the guy, it'll be fun to see what he does.

Whoever fails to see why people think cervelli may not be good - Again, he was hitting 190 in double A trenton before he came here. Thas two levels below the majors he is hitting below 200 - he is not likely to do a whole lot better in the majors over a stretch.

Guisseppe,

I agree that this team is built on pitching and if we are going to win, it will be because of our pitching staff. I see signs that they are about to get on a roll today. Outside of pettitte, everyone seems to be looking a whole lot better than they were a few starts ago. Hughes looks way better than he ever has before in the majors as well. I can see them going on a tear on the back of solid starting pitching - i hope we are right.

Becca,

How did it go from muscle spasm in his finger to an aneurism in his armpit? Was that a misdiagnosis? Did he have more symptoms?

Weird, you never hear of this stuff with other sports. I mean Teddy Bruschi actually suffered a stroke or something. But so far, Shelley Duncan had something similar. Kenny Rogers, Cone, and one other pitcher recently had the same thing.

"What a hitter. What a player," Guthrie said. "To come off the DL like that, I throw that fastball on the black inside, and he just takes it for a home run. ... It's a real special at-bat for him. He stepped up in the big moment right there, center stage, and does what he does best."
