Leyritz should be in Rehab, not trying to drive a car and endanger innocent people. Barring a miracle, he’s going to jail, and maybe he’ll be able to straighten his life out in there. But for now, thats where he belongs.

Really hate to hear this, Jimmy Leyritz will always be remembered by me as that guy who hit the game tying home run in the 96 WS against Atlanta. I think it was game 3. Set the tone for the rest of the series, the Yanks never lost another game.

Anyway, here’s hoping he gets some much needed help.

Jim Leyritz, despite whatever he did on the field, should be treated as the law prescribes. And I hope that’s some form of imprisonment and rehabilitation.

There is no cop-out statement.

Leyritz made a mistake that’ll haunt him for the rest of his life. But the person he killed made the SAME EXACT MISTAKE. So what makes her better than Leyritz? She wasn’t exactly 100% innocent in this case.

If Leyritz plowed into a minivan full of kids, I could see demonizing him to the point of the death penalty. But both of them should not have been on the road.

I really can’t speak about the DUI laws because everything is so different. Joba DUI’ed, he paid a fine. The guy killed Nick Adenhart, and people want him dead. Leyritz’s situation is different than the Joba and Adenhart situation.
