as bad as Sterling is, at least he doesn’t have a speech impediment…I can’t remember which team it was (thinking the Royals) but I listen to the games on XM which means I get the home announcers and it was just impossible to listen to. I understand a lot of people have speech impediments and that’s fine, but those people should not get into radio…

Uncle, that is hilarious. I’ve gotta try and hit up Sparrow Bar one of these days. I’ve never heard of it.

Many of the bars in Williamsburg/Greenpoint do similar things, but as you know, the hipsters have taken over…which makes it no fun.

Although I’m often accused of being a hipster, I really do hate them.

Don’t be jealous… you could always be like me and have other quasi-regular posters unintentionally use the same name and make reactionary, bridge-jumping comments during game threads. This makes me look like an idiot, for whatever that’s worth. This fellow typically uses a capital V, but not all the time – like this weekend for example. I recently started to fight back, mostly by correcting his poor grammar.

2 examples…oxygen bars – not sure if these ever made their way up north, but I think one of the dining halls at VT actually had one where you purchased “flavored” air…it didn’t last very long so maybe no one bought any…

the second is much more common and more expensive every day, but this isn’t purchasing air exactly, it’s purchasing rolled up paper with leaves/tar, etc in the middle so that you can breathe smokey air, which IMO is much more stupid than “flavored” air or even air in a container.
