kasey,

I agree with you that it's wang's (as well as Yankees') job to get himself right. But I hope that you take the report from Taiwanese media as a grain of salt. From other reporters I trust more, I believe that even though wang hopes to start soon, he is either sulking nor complaining about the current situation like the report suggested. I guess the reporter probably just asked Wang "did Girardi discuss with you before he made the decision?" and Wang just answered "no" in a typical very wang-ish way. Then the reporter could go on to make up all the stories based on a "no"!!

I wasn't here earlier but the red caps could symbolize the blood shed by veterans who have died in war. At any rate I'm proud that the Yankees slugged it out today after yesterday's tough loss.

# Laura - Win together, strike out alone! May 25th, 2009 at 2:16 pm

Why did the hats have to be red? Why couldn’t the teams use the red, white and blue emblem, but on their regular hats? That’s what they did last year. Since when does the color red mean patriotism?

If Girardi had used Tomko today and Aceves yesterday perhaps we would have another win

One more game that Hughes has shown that he can be a major part of this rotation for those that wouldn't give him a shot. Once he is allowed some time for some struggles he will get it together. The biggest difference the last two games seems to be confidence. His fastball is a lot better than last year and the cutter is keeping hitters somewhat honest on it and works as an offspeed. He's using much more of the plate too. He hit Blalock, but before was strictly aiming strikes which you can't do. I believe he will get to a point that he will be consistently giving good starts not just flashes. Again, like many of his games, he is starting to pitch out of jams. Game could have been different if he gave up those runs in the second.

"IT’S THE BALL….NOT THE BALLPARK."

I don't know about that. How many righty hitters hit broken bat homers[Teixeira} into the left field bleachers in old Yankee Stadium? Less steroids and more homers in the new park. You can't get away with too many bad pitches, and lefties plus righties with inside out swings are lofting balls to right field that are carrying into the seats.
