pete, i have to say, your overanalysis of the bullpen moves is too much... especially in a blow out.

Wang getting innings 7, 8, and 9 would have been great. But maybe Girardi didn't trust him for 3 innings with a 6 run lead. Looking at his first starts of the season, would he have any reason to trust him? that said, i like Wang and i'm not trying to rip him...

But maybe with a 6 run lead he'd like to gauge some of the others. Robertson got out of a jam. Maybe he's moved up on Girardi's pecking order as a result. that's good!

It's too much, Pete. And to compare him to Torre with "at least Torre ran the good ones into the ground".... umm, which 'good ones' does Girardi have right now? His pen management skills were superb last season.

Berroa! No joke is as funny as watching him play.
What are they thinking?
Pete would have been closer to the plate than Berroa.

Starters need to at least throw 100 pitches. With the way of Yankees humilating Wang, I don't think Wang can throw 100 now. He only threw 75 once in AAA 10 days ago and 26 after 5-day rest. When he is really needed later, don't expect him to reach it. Then everyone will be throwing water bottles at him again and cursing he is garbage. Whose fault is it?
Yankees forbid Wang from running in ST and made him what he was in April. They admitted it. They are ruining Wang again by rotting him in long-reliever role.

Daniel Cabrera is only good at one thing: beaning people. Just look at the bruises on Jeter and A-Rod.
If I want some retaliation to tell other teams to stay off my players, he is the go-to guy.

Joba, 44.2 ip 3.97 era in 8 games(not including that accidental game).
Ghil, 29.2 ip 5.16 era in 6 games.

In their 14 games BP works an average of 3.2 innings each game. So that we never have enough reliever for burning.

Both of them are good pitchers but starter before they prove they can eat more innings. One game doesnt mean they were good starter. They have a long way to go still. By the way, since they are on the list,we need more tough relievers to cover them. Maybe Wang is a good choice for those who set no count on him.

The same as Wang has to prove he can be a good starter again. And now where's the chance for him. Today is a good chance..I dont think so. Give him a shoot to tell us something before it's too late. They can put him in BP, it's all right, but please get him so work to do. Dont murder a starter in BP like this, to tose 26 pitches in 5 days.

I like Willie Harris not that sure about Kearns but he fields better than Swish. D-Cab = Veras...eh. God what I'd give for Ryan Sweeney in RF.

“The overall salaries are close. Swisher is owed about 17 mil on his over 3 years and Veras is barely more than minimum wage. Harris is owed 1.5 mil, Cabrera is owed 2.9 and Kearns is owed 16 mil if the ‘10 option is picked up.”

GB Daniel was released.

“Let’s see if NYY can hook up a trade with Washington and swap Veras, Swisher and cash (money) for Daniel Cabrera, Austin Kearns and Willie Harris. It gives Washington a bit of a cash break and the combined salaries from Washington would break even.”

GB is this you ?

------------------------------------------------------------

NYY would lose Veras if they release him. Cabrera has options and and Veras doesn't. Kearns is a natural right fielder and a better player than Swisher. Harris could be NYY's version of Chone Figgins. He plays all infield and outfield spots better than average....has speed amd a little power.

I'd be perfectly fine with him in the minors. It's a no-risk situation, he'll cost next to nothing and if they can get him to throw strikes it could be a good pick up.... if not big deal no loss
