If you’re a Twitter person, you can follow me at PeteAbe.

There will be links to every blog post and occasional other “Tweets” from the clubhouse and press box. In terms of news, everything will remain here on the blog.

Twitter is simply an adjunct to the blog, hopefully a way to get other people interested and involved with what we have going on.

I have 876 Twitter followers. Jon Heyman of SI has 3,748. I need to catch up.

Meanwhile you can find Nick Swisher on there and media types like Sweeny Murti, Ken Davidoff, Joel Sherman and Peter King. These are good times to be a sports fan who wants instant information. It’s out there, you just need to access it.

If anybody has any ideas about the blog, please e-mail. We’re always looking to make this better.

    so technologically advanced Pete, nice!

    Hey Pete,

You should come up with a Yankee Blog App to make it easier to follow and comment from an iphone.

  3. dadofjft

I’m all for increasing traffic to the blog, but Pete have you seen the LoHud homepage? The top story is “Join the Joba debate” on the LoHud Yankees blog. Please, no.

  4. DT

Jon Heyman has 3,748 Tweeters – but if you discount pal Scott Boras and all his clients it’s really only 42 Tweeters.

  5. DGiant

Hey Pete – not following you on twitter because I get your blog updates over there from @YankeesTweets. The information was redundant.

One of those is his mother, sending messages to pick up the dry cleaning and a loaf of bread. The other 41 are writers, “looking for an exclusive scoop”.

Read RAB about what they call “B-Jobber talk” (the Joba debate).

  9. Larry

Consider yourself followed, good sir. Shelley Duncan and CC Sabathia are on Twitter as well.

I can’t get into Twitter. I tried. It doesn’t really make sense to me. Guess I’m getting old or something.

That said, someone sent me the link (or someome posted it in here) for the clearly fake Hank Steinbrenner twitter page and it’s good for a laugh. https://twitter.com/hankstein

My favorite is his idea of turning the Mohegan sun lounge into a strip club to boost attendance and putting CGI fans in empty seats on all Yes telecasts.

  11. Uncle Ellsworth (Expert texpert choking smokers don't you think the joker laughs at you?)

    is this via text messages?

  12. Nick in SF

“If anybody has any ideas about the blog, please e-mail.”

More Angel Berroa jokes, please. Light-hearted, good-natured humor never gets old – unlke Angel Berroa.

  13. Uncle Ellsworth (Expert texpert choking smokers don't you think the joker laughs at you?)

is there any reason to “friend” the blog on Facebook???

“You should come up with a Yankee Blog App to make it easier to follow and comment from an iphone.”

If this is possible to make a LoHud Yanks App, please consider it. It’s too time consuming to comment and read the comments via Safari.

    “I have 876 Twitter followers.”

    woohoo… it’s up to 899 now.
This is more fun than watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon big board.

When you get up over 1,000, Ashton Kutcher will start to sweat.

    oops… now 902.

“putting CGI fans in empty seats on all Yes telecasts.”

ummm… i think this blog should get credit for that one. i’d say me. but there’s a good chance someone before me said that one…

the CGI fans have to be famous fictional rich people. mr burns, thurston howell, mr. drummond, the family from silver spoons, daddy warbucks…

  17. JoeT 28 in 10!! MELKY FOR MVP!!!!

Nick – didn’t get enough of the berroa jokes last night?? Yeah, me niether!!

I’M ALL FOR THE IPHONE APP!!

  18. GreenBeret7

I’d rather eat dirt than be a tweeter. It’s somebody’s get rich scheme, because it attracks the kids.

  19. GreenBeret7

    ***attracts*** the kids.

I hate people that can’t type.

“More Angel Berroa jokes, please. Light-hearted, good-natured humor never gets old – unlke Angel Berroa.”

Rickles, please don’t make fun of Angel. It’s not nice. He’s a Yankee and I support his bench sitting ability! He has feelings you know. He even has a mother. She supported him during his tough rookie year with the Kansas City Monarchs.

    LOL.. Statler and Waldorf.

Attrack sounds like a cool new word. First you attract and then you attack.

    sophia legend FTW!

  24. jldraw

Anyone catch the Mid-day show on WFAN today?

Joe Beningo: Hey Ev – We are on Twitter now – TWEET TWEET!

It was seriously odd to hear him say that.

  25. letsgojason

hey, gang… nbcnewyork.com is having another golden local contest.

it’s between citi field and yankee stadium for new best stadium.

and yankee stadium is currently losing big!

come on, everyone…vote for our digs!

    http://www.nbcnewyork.com/around_town/debates/

  26. Art Vandelay

The only reason why people like Citi Field more than Yankee Stadium is because Shea was such a dump and they could have replaced it with anything and it would be an upgrade. On top of that the Yankee-hating press had a field day with the $2500 tickets, the moat, and monument cave.

  27. Art Vandelay

On top of that I wonder if Angel Berroa likes the New Yankee Stadium or Hilltop Park during his first stint with the Highlanders, I mean Yankees.

  28. Vince

    Nick Swisher’s Twitter:

    7:45 – Struck out looking

    8:50 – Struck out swinging

9:41 – Grounded into inning ending double play

9:45 – Made funny joke, but no one seems to be laughing
