Indians make another move
This from the Tribe:
The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has placed RHP Rafael Betancourt on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin. To replace Betancourt on the active roster the Indians have recalled LHP Tony Sipp from AAA Columbus.
Betancourt was injured in yesterday’s game vs. the New York Yankees in the 8th inning. So far this year Raffy is 1-1 with a 3.71 ERA in a team-high 25 games.
Sipp has split the 2009 season between AAA Columbus and Cleveland, going 1-0 with a save and a 4.15 ERA in 9 games for the Columbus Clippers.

Pirates recalled RHP Steven Jackson from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Jackson was claimed off waivers from the Yankees on May 18. The 27-year-old righthander has a 3.10 ERA in 11 minor league appearances this season. Jackson will be making his major league debut.
Lets see how he does.
Didn’t he pitch for us?

Feels like they all did at some point
Jackson was on the team, but, never got into a game.

Tom in N.J.—
Re Levon Helm … Did you see him at his house? He plays regular shows up there, in some kind of barn that has been converted into a studio. Has special guests and everything. It’s a pretty expensive ticket but I’ve heard it’s great.

The book says don’t bring your closer into a tie game on the road, but what about Rivera not pitching yesterday?
He’d only pitched one inning since May 24th. Plus, you gotta not lose them before you can save them.
You know what they say about a foolish consistency.
The Pirates are probably waiting everyday for Veras to be released. He can probably be there closer, you never know in the NL.
The Pirates have a goal to have their pitching staff comprised entirely of Yankee castoffs.
Offtopic:
Tom in NJ, is Levon playing at the same house in Woodstock that The Band and Dylan recorded at?
@ JMZ: Not to butt into your discussion, but a friend of mine went and saw the Black Crowes there a couple of months ago. They were having a couple of shows there to record their new album. My friend said that the place was amazing, very inimate.
There was a near disasterous collison between Austin Jackson and Eric Duncan on a ball hit into the gap in Scranton today. Luckily no damage other than the ball getting away from them.

Cam: Hey, no problem. That sounds really cool. The $150 or so for the ticket for those things is pretty steep, but it sounds like you really do get your money’s worth.
Reminds me of a story my parents tell about going to see the late Harry Chapin play, at his house, in the 70s. It was raining a little that day and a while before they were supposed to leave the phone rang. My dad picked up and it was Harry Chapin, just wanting to tell him that the concert was going on as planned.
Assuming that Zach McAllister continues to progress as well and as fast as he does, what will they do with the rotation by next year? who gets traded, who goes to the bullpen? At the same time, you have others like Kontos and De La Rosa showing up.
Green Beret ;
If all turns out well for McAllister, Kontos, and DeLaRosa, it’s a good predicament to be in.
I will never tire of the old-man jokes that Pete plays on Angel. Hilarious. I hope he stays on the roster forever. And Angel, too.
What the eff? Did Pete delete the post?
Alright-who broke the blog?
Swish hit a double and the board melts down.
Somebody must have bashed the Boss again. (Bruce not George)
The blog filed for bankruptcy.
Damn! Now that’s a filter.
