Greg

Check in when Alex gets a big hit sometime too.

May not be tomorrow, may not be this week but it will come.

After he does and you've dissected his facial ticks, at least check in and give him an atta boy.

Green Beret,

And yet, they still almost made the play. Even though 2 of his attempts sailed.

Are you refusing to acknowledge that he had 3 ugly throws last night?

------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't say that he didn't make bad throws last night, but, those happen when you rush throws. Look over the last few seasons and check the stolen bases off of Burnett and Pettitte. Pettitte has a great move, but, he's also slow to the plate. At 6'5", that's understandable. Mussina used to be very good, but in his last 3-4 years, he became more lazy or deliberate and the'd steal him blind. Right now, Sabathia is the only one that does a decent job. Something else....none of the pitchers in the system are good at all at holding runners, and the catchers are getting the heat for it. Next game that you watch, get a stopwatch and time the pitchers. For a catcher to get most runners, a catcher needs 2.7-3 seconds to get the ball from pitcher's release to second base. The time isn't far off, but, I think Randy or PAT M knows what the times would be.

He hurt it last night breaking up the double play. X-Rays negative. He had swelling but according to Girardi was moving better as the night went on after spending the night in the trainers room.

Doreen,

I wasn't talking about you. Unless you said "BS". Which I know you wouldn't because ex-cheerleaders don't talk like that!

"Greg, if alex kills the yankees so much, then what doe berroa, ransom and pena do to the to help the yankees when they play?"

Are you kidding? Arod has so much natural ability, it's incredible. But when he starts sliding, he does more damage and kills more rallies than the scrubiest scrub in the game. Bases loaded and one out? Berroa and Ransom may strike out, maybe Pena can get a sac fly or run-scoring ground out. Arod will hit into that game-killing DP, no question. He becomes a "cooler", where his very presence destroys any hope of something good happening. I don't know what it is about the guy, but I have a twisted curiosity in seeing just how he will screw up and what facial tics and bizarre mannerisms will accompany his failure.

I am just getting on the computer now.

Would someone please update me briefly on what happened to Tex tonight.

Sounds like he had some kind of ankle/foot injury which is interesting because Youkilis had the same type of thing late in the game. It looked like a runner stepped on his ankle.

m -

My point was that you can't trust Andy to be forthcoming about his physical condition. He is always going to want to pitch. I think he just always thinks he's the Yankees best option and that's not always a bad thing. I wasn't thinking that he was only thinking about his contract.

GB, good points…....and I should know, since I’ve bumped my head (and other body parts) a lot. That goes with the territory when you are a klutz. I’m just starting to get negative now with the injuries. I didn’t realize Cano was hurt, Andy is sort of ailing…....now Tex is out.

What Girardi said was that if he had to make a guess, Teixeira would be playing tomorrow, but, they'd have to see about his mobility tomorrow. I don't blame them for not letting him run on it. One false step and you are looking at a DL stint. He did say that Teixeira was moving around much better as the night wore on, so, I assume that they got the swealing down.
