Vote for Shelley and AJax
The SWB Yankees e-mailed today to say that on-line voting has started for the Triple-A All-Star team. So help out the Yankees prospects and vote one or two or 25 times.
You can go to MinorLeagueBaseball.com or right to SWBYankees.com.
Shelley told me will personally thank anybody who votes for him.
(Just kidding, although he might.)

Vote for Shelley and Melancon!
Shelley personally thanked me for voting for him. Well through twitter anyway.
And AJax.
Mike Francessa revealing his intimate knowledge of the relationships of Yankee players…after all, he would know that “Posada doesn’t like Girardi”…so much evidence, after all…
Given how Shelley responds to everyone on Twitter, I wouldn’t put it past him.
But if AJax gets voted onto the AAA All Star team it might inflate his ego and stunt his development
If he gets too many accolades it will slow his learning down and cause him to keep flailing at those breaking balls in the dirt!
/totally sarcastic, he definitely deserves it he’s hitting like .350 or something crazy.
Shelley,
You can thank me with peanut butter M&Ms. I really like them.
Who is pitching next sunday for the yanks and mets game? i got tickets and i cant figure it out…..
burnett for the yanks and johan for the mets? or am i wrong there?
Shelley sent me an Amazon gift card just for saying I would vote for him.
Joba vs. Maine
Pettitte vs. Livan
Burnett vs. Santana
damnit i dont wanna see johan vs the yanks….how are his numbers against the yanks?
Matt: Yanks beat him last year.
Is Maine really scheduled to pitch Friday?
What are the odds? We saw him pitch at Citifield on May 31. He was good that day, really good, then got sick and left with a shut-out going. And we’re going to the Stadium Friday night, so we’ll see him again. Which John Maine will we see? Which Joba? Oh, the suspense of it all???
Another thing about Twitter – you’re limited to 40 characters, right? I don’t know if I am capable of limiting my characters. Seriously. You’ve all seen my posts here. I’m a paragrapher!
Just went and voted for a few SWP Yankees. Why limit it to two of them? Spread the goodwill around!
That would be the SWB Yankees.
Yes i recall that, but i just checked his numbers against the yanks from 06-08 and its a 4.32 ERA so that is good that means the yanks hit him well…….lets hope its a good game, its my bachelor party and im going with 40 people so i dont want to see a blowout
2 of 3 Mets matchups in our favor…plus they have no offense with all the injuries.
Can you believe that Chad Jennings didn’t vote for Austin Jackson?
Wah wah wah, I don’t wanna face Johan. Dude suck it up and deal with it. Personally, I love seeing the Yankees face top notch pitchers. It’s great to see how our lineup stacks up against an ace like Santana.
You can’t avoid guys like that, especially once you get to October and its the best of the best.
Kay is loving Tex lol
I have no problem facing Johan, but I wish it were CC facing him.
140 characters sounds more accurate.
Oops, I meant that to be @Doreen. I think that’s how the Twits do it.
Pete, you forgot a shout out for Kei Igawa. He’s on the ballot too, you know.
Personally, I would like to see a Johan/Hughes matchup one of these days.
Done! For Shelley Duncan, anything. Anything else the NYY Universe needs from me prior to 7:05 EDT, or can I go back to work now?
Hope those guys make it, they’ve certainly earned it.
You guys do know that as of this year Nick Swisher is still officially considered a relief pitcher for the NY Yankees? With an ERA of 0.00?
Voted!
A guy just said that He wanted Mo to set up Joba smh
Nick in SF, that would actually be a blast.
http://www.baseball-reference......tion_draft
This sounded nuts:
“All teams could protect 26 players in their organization from the draft, except for teams who signed a Type A free agent that year, who would protect 24 players. Teams could opt out of the right to sign Type A free agents and therefore not have to place any names into the pool.”
What the heck has Joba proven as a closer?
As the Jose Veras era nears it’s end, here is a wild thought:
Kei Igawa
Against lefties in AAA 18.1 9 3 3 0 17
@Nick in SF -
140 is a little better. But very rare for me!
Pete has already put up the game thread in an attempt to undermine support for Shelley and Ajax?
Kei Igawa would be ridiculous and a disaster.
He does this EVERY YEAR, wows us all with brilliant AAA numbers and then bombs on the ML level. Please.
Trevor-In the whole stale argument ’bout “Joba to the pen”, that’s the 1st fresh take; & a good one at that.
Can we vote for Shelley to replace Berroa on the Yankees?
It seems Girardi keeps pinch running with him when Gardner is on the bench in order to justify the guy’s existence.
Igawa supposedly had a very strong spring, FWIW. Could he be a LOOGY-type?
