Joba was supposed to pitch in Boston this week but was changed so AJ could pitch against Beckett. Joba then gets the first game against the Mets.

Le Sigh. IF Wang doesn’t have his best game tomorrow, we still have the day after that to play. Sometimes you lose a battle to win a war. And that’s what the AL East is. An absolute war.

I’m willing to Let Wang get knocked around a little if it gets him a little closer to his 19 win form. And if he has a good game tomorrow, I bet you wont give him any credit for it.

"So why should I want to give away a game to the Red Sawx with Wang barely able to get a Cape Cod League team out after the third inning?"

Whom would you start tomorrow night if not Wang?

Right now, Wang is a sick puppy. His career ERA at the Ratnest is 5.11 with a WHIP over 1.5 and a bb/k ratio of 20/14. Last year, he pitched one game at the Ratnest and was brilliant. Take away that game, and his numbers are dreadful. And he has sucked this year.

Games against Bahstin count double. The two that the Yanks lost in April at Rathole that they should have won (4-2 lead bottom 9, 6-0 lead the next day) are the difference between a one-game lead and a five-game lead over the Sawx (win both, and the Yanks are 36-21, Sawx are 31-26).

First-round buzz
The Yankees could highlight an athletic outfield prospect like California's Brett Jackson on their Draft board, and there has been talk about Southern California shortstop Grant Green and Boston College catcher TONY Sanchez. One wonders how flexible the idea of a Draft budget is for the Yankees, who shelled out $423.5 million to lock up Sabathia, Teixeira and Burnett without much of a second though

"and they tag Beckett (5.80 ERA in 14 starts against the Yanks)."

Much as this is not the same Yankees team Boston saw earlier in the year, I don't think the Yankees will be seeing the same Beckett they saw either. This will be a tough one tonite. Need Burnett's A game.

Fenway has not been kind to Wang…but he also threw the best game of his career there last April (CG, 1 run, 2 hits)

Fenway is not kind to a lot of pitchers, that green thing out in left turns every routine fly ball out into a double.

But hey lets focus on the Conveyor Belt at The New Yankee Stadium in right field, and make sure that the sox get a pass on everything... You know what... with that Attitude I think I could easily get a job on Baseball Tonight

Wang Career Numbers at Fenway btw in 7 Starts (3 -3, 5.11 era, - 25 ER in 44 Innings)
