Pete,
Are you suggesting that there is some disagreement between Arod and Girardi? Or that Cashman had to intercede in this matter?
“Mike Dunn: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 2-0 GB/FB – K/9 up to 12.41” RAB
What does he have to do to get a call up? I believe he’s on the 40 man.

He most likely debuts midseason, lesser scouting reports and he’ll take the league by surprise. He doesn’t even need AAA because the hitters in AA are better and he’s facing better hitters from the BP.
Pete,
I have been reading this site since mid-way through your first blog season, but only have commented maybe 2 or 3 times over the years. My son and I live in South Florida and are taking in tonight’s game. Any chance we’d be able to stop by and say “thanks!” in person? If not, just know I very much appreciate your blog, you have really put together one of the great blogs – sports or otherwise – on the intertubes.

WDR is most likely dead arm or soreness, otherwise it’d be more than a 7 day DL.
SJ, one thing I agree with is that Alex will get blamed no matter what. Therefore, I just tune those people out – I don’t care what fools have to say. I’m thrilled to hear that Alex doesn’t care what people say or write about him. The only people who matter should be his friends/family and his teammates. I never get upset with comments against me if they are from people I don’t respect or care about – they aren’t worth the time or effort. If Alex thinks along the same lines, that’s great – he’ll be much happier for it.
Why is “fatigue” in quotes? Does Pete think “fatige” is code for something else?
“fatigue”
“fatigue”……
Agree with SJ, from the previous thread. Girardi handled it the best he could…. fans will just complain for the sake of complaining. He can’t win, neither can Alex.

Yes, he thinks it’s a cleverly disguised code for “back on steroids”. I suppose it makes perfect sense, in as much as it’s to increase endurance, speed recovery and make you stronger. He doesn’t bother explaining why none of that’s happening of course. Those that doubt steroids are at work are just naive.
Why wouldn’t A-Rod be back on seroids? What is thw downside for him if he uses something undetectable?
Once a cheater, always a cheater….
Alex should not have played all those games without getting some time off. He came back from surgery early. Girardi/Cashman are responsible for not resting Alex. Usually when you ask a player, he will say he is okay.
As much as these are the post-surgery effects on A-Rod, you can’t deny that his body is breaking down because of the steroids. He’s already 34. Giambi’s body started breaking down right around the same time. The combination of surgery and steroid effects are taking a toll on him.

I’m sure Andy is back on it also
We’ve had a lot of off-days lately. That is when A-Rod got hie rest. He also DH’d a few times. How many more days off does he need?
“Once a cheater, always a cheater….”
Thats not true because I know people don’t think that about Andy. Even I don’t think about HGH when he’s on the mound and I shake my head at the relative pass he’s been given.
Alex should have been getting a day off every week, but obviously they didn’t want to play Berroa. As slows as his bat has gotten and how sloppy his hitting mechanics (front hip flying open) have been he should have certainly sat out the last game with Washington.
Scor — Go annoy someone from your middle school class
LOL GB – some thoughts should remain private, but I guess with Twitter, the cat’s already out of the bag. James Joyce would have a field day with Twitter……..
I was “fatigued” at 3 in the morning, but then I’ve been off steroids for 3 years, so maybe that would explain it (hey, steroids actually work for infections…even real people use them).
MArk NY — Giambi began breaking down immediately after the baseline testing of 2003 led to actual testing in ’04.
Alex hasn’t exactly been “breaking down” during the five seasons since testing began (and thus steroid use ended). It’s too early and too easy to make a causal link. If there’s more of the same in 2010 that would be a stronger indication.
Many steroids are still in use for athletes today, most notably cortisone. It’s anabolic steroids that are banned. MLb is just like the government deciding which drugs are good for you and which ones aren’t.
I expect MLB and the Players to go to the matresses over HGH testing in the next CBA.
Why is fatigue in quotes? Anyone.
MLB still allows *CORTISONE,it’s the only anabolic allowed* !!
