“Yeah, Jeter said if he could do it over again he would do it the same”

==================

This is why Jeter never gets frazzled in big time situations - because he knows the reality is that he's going to make outs a lot more than hits in a clutch situations so he does his best and moves on regardless of success or failure. It's the guys that think failure in that situation has some kind of mystical hold on them going forward who end up doing worse in those situations than their average dictates. The ones who do better than their average dictates are the ones who are relaxed enough to take advantage of the pitcher's lack of composure.

"The sad part about John Henry’s Twitter is that he has LOST more than $400 million worth of his client’s money.

Keep spending your valuable time tweeting you old geezer."

Now there is a great post

Emo, we DID have a stretch where we played up to our talent.

Obviously there are no gurantees. It depends if you think this cold streak is an aberration or a trend. I think aberration. You clearly think trend. Which is fine. But I disagree.

Matty C June 22nd, 2009 at 1:54 pm

Bryan is right. Full year stats are selective use of stats?? Since when? So if the Yankees miss the playoffs we can say but they had the best record in September!!!

You guys are too much

**************************************************

NOW things are crystal clear! Cashman (and maybe others) once said the Yanks play 162 one-game seasons. A small sample size to one person (one game) is a full season to others. So that means (in something like 'dog years') that the Yanks have been in a season-long slump for something like 8 of the last 12 seasons.

Now ... THERE's some serious grounds for griping! And ruining a good beer too, of course.

Wow, I gotta stop whining about the whining ... it'll give me a bad rep if it hasn't already!

Stop looking at talent. Start looking at results.

When have we ever played up to our talent? It's like AJ Burnett... great talent, mediocre results. Same story here.

"Yeah, Jeter said if he could do it over again he would do it the same"

Wasn't like he ws swinging at one in the dirt. Some argument that after walking the previous hitter, you wait him out a bit. Then again, you have a pitcher who is in the position of not being able to fall behind the hitter and really needs a first pitch strike. Don't have any problem with that at bat.

Ah, the troll who comes on here and calls me different names to annoy me. Hello, troll.

XFactor, I NEVER said that. Or hinted at it. It was over by then, easily. Since when was it over now? This is June, not September genius. And better pitching now kind of helps. A lot. With any baseball team.
