Arod? Of course there was no way Torre would have taken him. Well considering the Yankees traded away two pitchers that combined have only 1 less win than CC/Burnett I'd say Pittsburgh got the better of the deal. I'd think that throwing Melky and Kennedy into the deal probably could have landed Bay over Nady.

And when Mo's wild because he's rusty?

"I still want to know how Joe can’t figure out a way to get Mo into a game……it’s been a week already. That’s sad……"

You're the first one to start whining and complaining when you think Mo is being used too much. Twice in a row, 3 out of 4 games, you start posting about his arm falling off.

Now its the hand wringing over him NOT getting into a game. Newsflash... since the 16th when he pitched last they've lost 5 out of 6 and the win wasn't a save situation. Sure Girardi could have gotten him an inning sometime. But its not the end of the world. The guy is pushing 40, I'm sure he can get his work in on the side to stay fresh.

With all that's wrong with the team right now that seems like a silly thing to complain about.

The one thing that Ordonez and Ortiz have in common is that neither were coming off surgery, both had a full Spring Training, and both had quite a few more at-bats under their at-bats under their belts when they got benched than A-Rod does.
What do you expect? Did you expect A-Rod to rest for a couple of days and then go 5-for-5 with 3 home runs tonight?
Sorry, imbecile. This isn’t a video game. Baseball players don’t bust out of slumps that that. Ken Singleton even talked about it on the broadcast.
It’s people like you who don’t have any idea what you’re talking about that turns this place into a sewer.
A-Rod is not going to get benched – nor should he. I’ve never seen anyone bust out of a slump by sitting on the bench.
Ortiz and Ordonez are two completely different cases and have nothing to do with A-Rod.
........................

You know what, Pal, I've been reading your drivel on this blog for over a year, at first I thought you knew what you were talking about, like SJ44, Randy, CB, or Pat M. But, you're nothing but a blinkered homer with no more baseball sense than a child. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!

You bore me. I answered your scenarios point by point, and your so-called rebuttal answered none of my arguments. As a matter of fact you have no arguments, just name calling ("Duh, your an idiot!" "Duh, what a moron..."). I teach Junior Highers, and I never argue with them. They have more class in their little finger than you do in your entire body. So, if I refuse to argue with a child, I certainly am not going to stoop to arguing with the likes of a boor like you.

I'm here to talk Yankee baseball with fans that know what they're talking about, and you don't qualify. Adios!

You know what's funny? The way the Yankees are playing right now is exactly the way the Red Sox were playing for the entire season up until 2 weeks ago. Before the last NY/BOS series at Fenway Park, the Red Sox were just 28-24 against all teams other than the Yankees. Their biggest hitter (Ortiz) was in a major slump, they couldn't score on the road, and they were losing to bad teams like the Mariners, Atletics, and the AA Mets.

When the Yankees were 0-fer against Boston but still in first place, it didn't mean much. But now it seems that the 0-8 record is hurting them both in the standings and perhaps mentally (the BOS sweep is when the slump began). As frustrating as it is to lose to the Nationals and Marlins, the Yankees are still 38-24 against teams not named the Red Sox. The Red Sox are 35-27 against virtually the same teams. It's the head-to-head match that has created such a large swing in the standings.

A team that cannot score runs against the National League -- nor prevent them -- deserves to get to the World Series ..... WHY, exactly??

The age of these veterans is really, really showing.

Mer: Sorry to lose you - there is some major craziness on these boards during the games and after any loss. So much that it's getting harder to wade through the lunacy, vitriol and outright creepiness to get to the good posts. But the blog still remains worth it, not just for Pete's outstanding writing, but for the other great regulars SJ44, CB, randy1, Doreen, ray sox fan, GF, Dennis sox fan costanza, Nick, GB, Brandon, raymagnetic and others to numerous to mention. It's a pity that the toxic element is driving away or reducing participation from those who just want intelligent, informative and enjoyable Yankees and baseball talk during good and not so good times.
