It was quite apparent Joe was using the bad call on Gardner as a tool to pump up the Yankees. I could tell by the way he was arguing that it wasn't really an emotional response, but a calculated idea to hopefully put some emotion into the Yankees.

It worked, but, next time Joe, wait until you're really pissed off before you go and throw a tantrum. Unless it's real, it looks stupid....it looked stupid last night.

"It used to be that we’d respectfully disagree, but now people are so cranky that they’re calling each other names. Even when they agree!"

-----

yup.

I admittedly got caught up in that at times myself and it's really bringing the blog down.

It used to be, even when there was arguing going back and forth, that we always had that one thing.... that common ground. - We all really wanted the Yankees to win.

We just disagreed on how that could be achieved.

Now, it seems like that common ground doesn't even exist. A good portion of the posters seem to relish in Yankee losses and/or players failing.

This is supposed to be a place for Yankee fans to come together and cheer on the team and have intelligent, respectful discussion.

It's a shame.

"Boston Dave,

It’s bothersome how it took an ejection to jump-start this team."

----------
I agree.

That's one thing that simply amazes me - that the manager arguing and getting tossed would be necessary to fire guys up.

I understand wanting your manager to support his players. However, a professional baseball player should be able to motivate himself or get himself fired up when the team is down.

I think that's one trait that guys like Cervelli help bring. They still care about every single play. Even though you know the season is 162 games... everything that happens in a single game means something.

Nice to see.

Maybe there is truth to the fact that Posada needs to sit. He calls a bad game, and plays abhorrent defense.

Cervelli is the better catcher. Posada is nothing but a glorified DH.

Bench him again tomorrow."

Pete can you ban this guy please? He's been impersonating me for 3 days now. Its getting really annoying.

“Btw- Francisco Nieve went 6 scoreless innings for the Mets tonight. Maybe he is their ace afterall”

I swear he wouldn’t strike me out if I swung w/ one hand. These scouts better start picking up on him.

********
Hmmm... I smell Brandon's next challenge/rivalry
