Pete, you need to work on eliminating the ummms in your dialogue. It's a natural reaction during public speaking to want to fill every second with sound to keep your public's attention but it's unnecessary. Just practice getting comfortable with silent pauses in your answers, at first it will seem very awkward after a while you'll get used to it and they will have the added effect of making your replies seem more thoughtful.

Sorry folks but you can't get a truly great burger at a restaurant that has a website.

And also sells chicken and hot dogs.

In & Out ? Not a bad chain but best burgers on the planet?

Atlanta, Savannah, Miami, NY, Austin and about 300 other cities....The best sandwiches/burgers are at Schlotzsky's. All homemade breads, including sourdough. The Reubens are great.

I'd look at Cervelli being to Posada as what Mike Redmond is to Joe Mauer. Good defensive catcher and a bat that's nothing special but not embarrassing when he plays for a week.

The Varsity is a must stop when you are in Atlanta. Next to In-N-Out Burgers, the best burgers on the planet.

I think alot of people were just awe struck by Ransom's vertical jump video and forgot that even guys like Berroa look good in ST...I know it was a small sample, but he was terrible at the start of the season. At least with Pena you get good defense. Hopefully Ransom can play up to his alleged defensive ability

I think sometimes fans have overblown expectations from bench guys. Its the classic, backup QB syndrome.

A bench guy plays well for a few days and fans all of sudden project them into being something they are not.

Bench guys are bench guys for a reason. Their games do not hold up over the course of a full season.

Used sparingly? They are effective. Used everyday, much less so.

Cervelli is a classic example. He has played very, very well in his short bursts as a Yankee. However, he's not a better player than Jorge Posada.

He's a kid learning on the job and doing quite well so far. He also has the benefit of not being completely scouted out by the opposition.

If he played everyday, his bat would be exposed and he would be a liability to the team.

If this team was hitting like it should, you could carry a guy who isn't a great hitter as your starting catcher. However, with the current state of the offense, they can't carry the guy as an everyday player.

That said, he is certainly has positioned himself as the guy who will back up Posada, and probably play 60-70 games, next year.

Catcher of the future? It all depends on his bat. He doesn't have to be Joe Mauer with the bat. He does however have to show the ability to hit good pitching.

Time will tell if he will do it well enough to be a starting catcher in the big leagues.

Anyone saying Ransom might have been better than Alex had to have been off their meds. Cody looked good during the Spring hitting BP fastballs and making some plays around 3rd. When the real games started he was an automatic out at the plate and a butcher at 3rd. He was overexposed by playing every day in A-Rod's absence definitely, but for me a fringe utility guy should be aple to play D at the multiple positions he covers, not just pretend to.

Anyway, I'm sold on it being beneficial for El Nino to play every day at AAA even though I like him more on the Yankees' bench. But I am not sold that Ransom is the answer in his place, regardless of his pop and versatility. This would be a completely trivial issue, in my mind, if A-Rod gets hot and puts the doubt about his health to rest (at least for a while).
