Jackson, Melky, Gardner in the outfield is a horrible idea. Offense is more valuable than defense. Jason Bay has yet to sign an extension with the Red Sox, it would be much more intelligent to sign him than it would be Holliday. Matsui, Damon, Nady are coming off the books. Vlad Guererro is going to be a free agent also. Bringing him in to fill the DH role and being a part time outfielder wouldn’t be a bad idea. Depending upon the price A good outfield for 2010 Bay, Melky/Gardner,Swisher. As Jackson develops he can slowly replace the Melk man and Gardy gard in center. I love his OBP by the way.

That is a great question. Of course their decision also stems on the progression of Jackson in the minors. These are his stats so far:

Not a lot of power and too many strike outs but does hit for a high average. But you can also see that he has a lot of speed based on his stolen base and extra base hits totals. We will see what happens.

Good point about Crawford, but something tells me the Yankees really don’t value team defense as highly as Cashman claims. I doubt they go with Jackson, Melky, Gardner next year. Can they resist Holliday and wait for Crawford though? I hope so.

I don’t want Holiday. I would rather wait for Carl Crawford to be available in 2011. Next year bring up Austin Jackson for CF, Melky in RF (best arm) and Gardner in LF. That would be a very good defensive outfield. Not much hitting but very good defense……we all know that defense and pitching wins games and championships. Ask the Yankee teams of the 90’s.

It’s looking more and more like Holliday in LF next season. Not that that’s a bad thing. He will get a big contract but money has never been an obstacle for the Yankees.

The monster known as A-Rod has awoken. The Mets better be worried because he will hit 3 home runs over the weekend and drive in 10 rbi’s…..albeit not in pressure situations though. Haha

Pettitte looked good for a couple of innings and then he fell apart. So I say that the Yanks put Hughes into his slot and use Andy as a mid to long relief man. He’ll do better with more time off and shorter outings and Hughes can get back to being a starter.

here is the PED reality – without greenies, Manny would NEVER have approached Willie Mays home run total. Unless you are among the unrealistic “experts” like SJ22 who thinks steroids/HGH and greenies are the same thing.

How can you be impressed with Mannys bogus home run totals? Keep cheering Manny if you want as you trash Bonds, A-Rod etc, you hypocrites.

here is the PED reality – without roids/HGH, A-Rod would NEVER have approached Reggie Jackson’s home run total. Unless you are among the unrealistic “experts” like SJ44 who thinks greenies and steroids/HGH are the same thing.

How can you be impressed with ARod’s bogus home run totals? Keep cheering A-Fraud if you want as you trash Ortiz, Manny etc, you hypocrites.
