Anyone else feel like Wang is the last piece of the puzzle right now? I mean, people always want to tinker with the team, whether it's adding an extra bat for the bench or a bullpen arm, but that's something all contenders try to do mid-season.

I really like how all aspects of the team are looking right now, but IMO we just need Wang to string together a few good starts in a row. Imagine the confidence not only he would gain, but that the rest of the team would gain in his starts. I remember he used to always get such great run support, but this year the entire team has looked flat in his starts. I badly want to get back to that time when the Yankees felt like they were going to win every time Wang was on the mound. If we can get Wang on a roll, then the Yankees are truly capable of rolling off a huge hot streak, because everything else is going right now.

"Sorry but, Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain are the best 1-2 punch this year."

Verlander and Edwin Jackson have been amazing as well. So have King Felix and Bedard (2.47 ERA before he got hurt).

m: I hear you on the small sample size! Heck, I remember right after Phil Hughes' first start, one LoHud commenter said that Phil and AJ were the only starters we could count on for the postseason. Wild, wacky stuff.

Interesting to note that there were about 500 fewer posts on tonight's thread...

With a one-hitter and all around good performance...I guess the trolls hide in their cave.
