SJ, here's the post game write-up for the WV Power. Glowing words indeed for young Mr. Sanchez. Congratulations to you, him and your family.

I've always kind of liked the Pirates, I don't know why. Maybe it's because I have vague memories of the 1979 "We are Family" Stargell-led team, with their yellow and black striped caps (I was only 8 years old -not sure why I have such fond memories- I guess I loved the song, lol) or maybe it's because I feel badly about those years they could never get past the Braves. I'm rooting for the Pirates....

CB,

The day he gets called up, I'm renting a suite at PNC Park and turning it into one big party!

I'll get Pete a night off from the Yankees to blog live from it! lol

First things first though. I just want him to get through the next two months healthy and successful.

brandon,

there's really no comparison between Markakis and heathcott. I have no idea what markakis was coming out of high school but by the time he was drafted he was very good. He was the kind of guy who had not only a very high ceiling but also a pretty high floor.

He was very talented and a terrific prospect. It's unfair to even try to compare heathcott to markakis.

anyone see Ohlendorf tonight? 7 innings and 0 runs against the Cubbies for his 7th win of the season. This kid is finding it in the last month and the Yankees have nothing to show for his trade.

SJ,

Since we all know that it's the catcher that controls the pitching, I'm tasking Tony with fixing Ian Snell, lol!

He can have until next year to work out the kinks with Gorzelany.

I've read very good things about Lincoln. McCutcheon from what I've seen of him looks very impressive.

They need Pedro to be what everyone expects him to be. He's a big key obviously.

But things do seem to be turning around there. Which is very good to see. It's such a proud franchise and the city has been through so much and is now showing signs of picking itself up.

Looking forward to following Tony and watching him become part of that renaissance.
