KO,

Ransom is at best a .222 hitter. His 4 homers with the Yankees were a fluke last year. He average .220/ 1 hr/ 8RBIs. Hinske hit 20 homers last year, (Im pretty sure the Yankees need power off the bench) Hes speant his whole career in the AL East and he averages .250 a year and hell easily hit 8-10 hrs this year off the bench. Hes solid.

Enough of this, they dont need Hinske to win the Gold Glove. They got him for his bat. Not the defense. Its just once a week, no big deal.

This is a reason why getting Hinkse was lame and probably not even close to necessary.... We have enough guys on the friggin roster that can hit.... Ransom plays above average defense most of the time and he's athletic and fast... I'd rather have him at 3rd big time

Pete, you lose credibility when you refer to anything written by that Yankee-hater Joel She-man.

I think there is absolutely something wrong with considering a list without confirmation, for example, I just got this out of the trash, its the bottom 11 players on the list:

94. Albert Pujols
95. Ken Griffey Jr
96. Mariano Rivera
97. Derek Jeter
98. Bernie Williams
99. Paul O'Neil
100. Tino Martinez
101. Pedro Martinez
102. Randy Johnson
103. Greg Maddux
104. Alex Rodriguez (Gasp!)

Unconfirmed, but it must be considered.

miggs

I was at the game last night and frankly, Joba was a major disapointment. He just wasn't attacking hitters, he was constantly going 3-2 and he let garbage hitters like Cedeno beat him. The crowd groaned after each 3-2 count and each walk, it was like taking medicine while he was on the mound.

What has happened to this guy? One has to wonder, what has happened to his demeanor on the mound? Is it correlated to his loss in velocity? Is his loss in velocity correlated to his inconsistent mechanics? Who knows? But I put Eiland on notice here, he needs to find out what makes Joba tick and get him going. If Eiland can't, then the Yankees need to find someone who can.

By the way Morrow was much better than his stat numbers indicated, he had most of the Yankees off balance all night particularly Matsui and Swisher. He is impressive.

Joba eventually will be allright. He is 23 and is learning the ropes of being a starter full time. And he is keeping the teams in all his games. The disapointment is there is no electricity to his starts, no mojo, no excitement, and one has to wonder will he ever regain this.

Hinske was a pretty good 3B in 2004 and moved to 1B after the Blue Jays lost Carlos Delgado. the last three years he's been on teams with Troy Glaus, Mike Lowell and Evan Longoria so why would he play 3B. People calling him a terrible 3B are simply making it up.

jerkface --- No one on this board knows how accurate the steroid list is including you. There's nothing wrong with considering it.

Rayvt --- I agree about the 12th pitcher and owuld like to see them go to 11 pitchers now. The 12th man on the staff -- Brett Tomko has pitched seven times for 12 innings in the last 32 games. I think Berroa got in more innings than that!
