A 1-game losing streak is the best kind of losing streak to have. Good job on turning it around fast Yankees, I only got to catch A-Rod's homer at work.

I'm sure 10,000 people have already said this, but those red Yankee caps are simply awful! How hard is it to just put an American flag on the side? I'm pretty sure no fans will question the MLB's patriotism if they did so.

Fellow loosey-goosey slugger?

C'mon Pete. You can see the sudden ascent in power numbers in the Palmiero's statistics. Steriods turned him from a bit better than average into a slugger. It's not really clear what steroids did for Arod...add a couple of homers a year in Texas...to one of the all time greats. I'm not condoning what he did, but Palmiero doesn't deserve the comparison.

CB, you see that tendency on here as well - esp. in game threads. People post nasty, just plain incorrect stuff about players when they are slumping........then disappear when they do well. It's really ok for someone to admit they are wrong, you know? It's just a blog/message board - no one is going to kill you if you are wrong. People are just so intransigent with AJ - they resent him because he hasn't lived up to his potential and they think it was a terrible signing. Therefore, when he does well - well, we have to wait and see (and hey - he sucked against the Sox). When he does badly, it's.......see ? I told you so. The guy actually has a better ERA than CC, by the way......

People gravitate to those with likeminded philosophies. The guys that run the blog aren't AJ fans, so most of the posters aren't going to be AJ fans. The fact that the game thread was mostly quiet over there is not surprising.......

This was not a big game. Not at all. Not even close.

If we lose today we have two more games against Toronto. Granted one is probably a loss, but nevertheless the series would be by no means decided.

Yesterday's loss was not a big deal. We had already won two games of that series. Let's see A.J. win a pressure packed game.

Girardi manages a bullpen better than Torre ever did.

Guys don't get overworked and he doesn't ride a guy until he blows up.

Two years ago, Luis Vizcaino pitched in 13 games in the second half of the year in games in which the Yankees had leads of 4 or more runs. He had nothing left by the time they got to the post-season.

That was a familar theme in each of the last 4 years he managed the team.

Coke may near the top of the league in appearances but, he throws less pitches and innings than any guy Torre rode in his heyday.

Add Hughes to the pen, and now Girardi has a myriad of options in the way he uses guys.

It makes the pen more flexible and less likely to burn out.

Part of the problem many of you have is you are too Boston-centric on everything.

You can't handle anybody doing well unless its against the Red Sox.

Unfortunately, its a skewed way of looking at things.

Mariano Rivera has blown more saves against the Red Sox than any other team in his career.

He blew the save that could have wrapped up the '04 ALCS.

He blew the save earlier this year when he had a 2 run lead and 2 outs in the 9th at Fenway.

Does that mean Mo can't pitch against the Red Sox or can't pitch in "big" games? Of course not.

There are more "big" games on the schedule than the Red Sox.

Today for example was a big game. They lost last night and had a division rival in to start a 4 game series.

It was a low scoring game and AJ pitched great. Believe it or not, that's a good thing.

Stop acting like Pre-'04 Red Sox fans and believe the only 18 games on the schedule that matter are the Red Sox-Yankee games.

If you do that, you are going to miss out on a fun season.
