He was a 13 game winner in his first full year. he was nothing special in those two years, but better than people remember. He was a decent #5 pitcher in '98 and '99. For 3 years, Mendoza was starting about 15 times a year. The rotations during those years had Key, Gooden, Rogers, who mixed with Cone, Pettitte, Wells, Clemens and Hernandez. Irabu was only with the Yanks for 2 and a half years and pitched 173 innings/4.06 ERA one year and 169 innings/4.84 ERA in the other.
