Cashman is best served to cut ties with him now to free up roster space. It will be interesting to see what teams put feelers out there with intentions of slashing payroll. And "it's only 3 starts" is very optimistic; not only do i think they will be very cautious with Wang after the inital rehab missteps, whether it's Joba's innings limit (or ineffectiveness) or someone else going down, i believe they will need more than 3 starts from someone else before the end of the season. It will probably take 3-4 weeks to build PH up so if they start now he'll be ready for the Aug-Sept stretch run. PH has been great in the pen. He helped when the team had a need. Now the team needs help in the rotation, that's his job. As far as the pen, Bruney needs to step up like Hughes did. Maybe they can explore other options at SWB or the trade market. Plus Coke is beginning to look like the Coke of last year. It all starts with starting pitching and the NYY need to put their best 5 out there, that includes Phil Hughes.
