If Wang is down for a while, is anyone thinking about Igawa for a stopgap starter? If he is the best minor leaguer around he at least deserves one more shot. Can't be any worse than say, Tomko. Leave Hughes and Aceves right where they are. Let Igawa try and give you four or five decent innings and then bring in the bullpen guys for a couple then the hammer in the bullpen. Lights out. Thanks for coming.

If you want to acquire a great pitcher you have to pay a vet high price. The Yankees may be the only team capable of absorbing Wells bad contract. It puts them in a position to acquire Halladay if they want to pay the price. Usually if it is only money thae Yankees will pay the price. I expect Toronto will be greedy an ask for much more.

Well is not an awful player. He is a very good defender and he has become a mediocre hitter. He’s overpriced by about 50 MM$. Its like paying a posting fee to get Halladay. It a high price to pay but if we can get Halladay and not have to give up as much talent it might be worth it. I suspect they will still want Hughes or Ajax.

-------------------

Very good defender? No, not really.

Thinking about paying Wells in excess of $15M a year over seasons 2011-2014 wants to make me hurl.

Losing his/her cool after 15 technicals? Sounds like the LoHud board after a Yankee loss.

The Yanks look great right now.

Nick,

Yes, it's obnoxious radio host on Sporting News Radio. He's a Cubs fan, but he's growing on me because he's sort of rooting on the Yankees. Apparently they make for good radio.

GB7,

Thanks.

dennis,

Great pickup. He's a killer from the outside. Loses his cool a lot. Or rather, he picks up a lot of technicals. You know the rule about getting suspended after 15 techs? Thats's the Rasheed Wallace rule.

He seems to be older than father time, but stays healthy. I'm hoping you guys beat Shaquilla & LeBronze, but that it takes too much out of you that you'll lose to the western conference champs.

What's the word on KG? And can Rondo let bygones be bygone?

Well said.

NickSF.

Not that there is anything wrong with that...re: car parts or social issues.

Mel.

Rasheed Wallace? Is there anything wrong with that?
