Today in The Journal News
Eric Hinske had an eventful debut as the Yankees fell to the Blue Jays. Jake Thomases has the story.
Andy Pettitte was puzzled by his poor outing. This notebook also has updates on Hideki Matsui and Jose Molina.
Joe Torre was back in Westchester for his annual golf tournament.

Way to go Hinske!
If Andy is puzzled by his performance,.so are Yankees fans
Pettitte, as much as I like him, is just too inconsistent.
( Maybe too far past his prime ) Bruney just hasn’t got his location down and speed is a little lacking. As much as Pete disagrees, I will continue to say Joba belongs in the pen. He will not win 10-12 games this year. Would help much more in relief for 1-2 inn. Could turn it loose, which he does only part-time as a starter and walks too many. He’s has become way too defensive of his pitching!!! Not sounding like the humble guy he seemed before. He’s made for the future closer role. Who else could possibly replace Mo???

I believe Eric Hinske’s nick name should be E-Roc or E-Rock.
What do you people think?
It’s pretty simple, Andy. You are old.
