Twins make a pitching switch

Glenn Perkins is sick and is out. RHP Anthony Swarzak (2-2, 3.90) goes tonight and the ghost of Francisco Liriano (4-8, 5.49) goes tomorrow.

if Cashman picks up the phone, and refers to Riccardi as a ‘PIMP’ in their convo, does the asking price for Halladay increase or decrease ?

    discuss…

Shame about Liriano not ever getting back to old form.

A rookie starting against us on short notice?

    7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER

You mean the ghost of Liriano v. the ghost of Ramiro Mendoza? :-P

Liriano has pitched better the last few times out, so I don’t think you can say definitively that he’ll never be back to his old self. The guy is still young and still has great stuff.

The Yankees absolutely pounded Perkins in New York in the 4th game of the series the teams played earlier–so I can assume his being sick didn’t make it a hard decision to have his start pushed back to not face NY.

    Too bad. A.J. will go:

    7 IP 3 H -1 ER

    to counter that.

    I love ACEves

    however, not exactly

Needless to say, I like the Yankees’ chances tonight.

Hopefully, the Yanks game plan won’t be the same as for the bums they saw against the Nats and Marlins (save Johnson). Or is it these rookies just bear down against the Yanks and make better pitches? I’d lean more to the former.

    game thread up

Did a post on this a couple nights ago. Stats wise, the two are VERY comparable. Aceves has better ERA, WHIP, Mo better ERA+.

None of Hughes’ injury issues were elbow or shoulder related. More freakish than anything. He gives no indication of being fragile.

We should have a Youuuuuuuuuuse sighting tonight.
