Brandon, why are you so worried? Phil wants to be a starter - he doesn't have to keep qualifying his comments about liking the pen by saying "but, I want to be a starter". He'd sound like an idiot. Phil is making the most of a the situation - I posted before, but being in the pen must be like a thrill ride for him because he never knows if he's going to get "the call". It can be exciting. He can like being in the pen and still love being a starter; right now, this is all new to him.

Pat M: I wouldn't trust those Monday tickets. Isn't Monday the All-Star Home Run Derby? I think Sunday is the last game before the break.

I totally agree on Ransom. He came advertised as a good field no hit reserve player. His fielding has been atrocious. Pena is a better player and should have never been sent down.Pena is a better fielder who can switch hit and also steal a base when you need it. Is Cashman that bad of a talent evaluator? On another note; isn't it annoying that a player like Gardner can't bunt. The kid is playing great ball but if he was more skillful as a bunter he could be a .3oo hitter. With his skillset it is surprising the kid was never taught to bunt. Anyway enough with the negative. This team is on a major role and if they stay healthy i can't see them not winning the division.

"Joe is like his dad or something, he only sees the good (what little there is) in the guy."

Interesting point, Betsy. Yeah, people's judgement can seem a little blurred when they start looking at a player like a relative...

Hinske is just as much of a butcher at 3rd as Ransom. And he told Joe he is most comfortable in the outfield.
