I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing that Stanley Tools is a sponsor of some sort. So long crappy concrete field teflon taped building. And, good luck playing meaningful baseball OUTDOORS in Minneapolis in April and September.

Pete, from your view in the press box - At the Wednesday night game in MN they did a bit between innings where someone tries to toss baseballs into a giant ice cream carton. One of the stray balls was left in right field for 4 innings! What would have happened had that ball caused a problem? And why does the time between innings go so fast at the ballpark and take SO LONG when you are stuck at home watching commercials? Finally, being a Minnesotan I also wonder about the logic of an open air stadium. Why they didn't go with the retractable roof? - only the powers-that-be pretend to know that.

That's pretty funny, Nick. The guy probably thought you were funny kine, staring at his eyes.

So, according to Kepner, Gardner had 2 rbi for the 3rd straight game? And we're apparently tied with Boston? When did all this happen?

Geez, time flies when we're winning.

Would be good to take the series, and maybe Joba will have the reverse LoHud jinx.

Has anybody addressed the concern about the potential for a ton of games being postponed due to weather? It gets really cold up there and early season and late september and postseason could get really interesting if it starts snowing.

What I remember about 1996 is knowing very little about baseball except the names Derek Jeter and Andy Pettitte.

I remember after Game 2 my dad taking me to school in the morning and I asked if the Yankees won and my dad said "of course not".

So I said, "What do you mean of course not? Isn't it best of seven?"

And my dad said, "Yes, you have to win four games but the Yankees aren't going to".

Uh huh.

Nice piece, Pete.

As a Yankees fan, I'll miss the Metrodome, cuz the Yanks have had quite a bit of success there. As a Vikings fan, I can't wait till the day when they implode it.
