I don't need no fan club to show people I'm a Yankees fan. I don't care if its $40 with a free lanyard and a newsletter that has spelling and grammar errors or $20 and gives me preferential access to a museum I have now seen twice since everyone is obsessed with visiting Monument cave.

Comparing the Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club to this Yankee Universe Fan Club is like comparing chopped liver and prime rib. The Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club offers a lanyard for $40 and the Yankee Universe Fan Club offers discounts and more for $20.
-------------------------------------------------------

Excuse the LVYFC for not having the financial backing of the team or having any kind of team sponsorship. The LVYFC doesn't have that kind of financial muscle. The board of directors of the LVYFC are a bunch of blue-collar people, not millionaires. It was the idea of one person who had a lot of Yankee fan friends. After running a bunch of bus trips with the same number of people going to the games, he decided to make a club out of those people, and it grew. But as far as "Yankee fan clubs" are concerned, especially one that gives back to its community, the LVYFC has been around for seven years. Not starting up now.

Freaking size queens. I see your schwartz is as big as mine!

"Um, the Sox have RED SOX NATION. We GOT to top 'em!"
"How about... Yankees UNIVERSE, boss?"

I thought this was ground they covered post-2004 when RSN was getting a lot of ink after the WS. Wasn't there a Steinbrenner-esque dig in Spring Training 2005 that referenced "universe?"

Seriously, “Yankees Universe” sounds really stupid.

````````````````````````````````````````````
Nothing - absolutely nothing can be any more stupid than Red Sox Nation. Beyond laughable.
Peter Gammoms came close to being elected president.
m -
Yeah, I do love my Disney!
Listen, I like dependable and clean, even if it is somewhat corporate.
I still don't think there's anything wrong with the Yankees making a dollar or two to give to Sloan Kettering by capitalizing on the "Yankee Universe" moniker. It's silly, it is. But I take it as very "tongue in cheek."
