The “throw the ball back” stuff is played out. It was moderately amusing when they did it at Wrigley Field decades ago. Now it’s just stupid.

Quite curmudgeonly of you Pete. I'm pushing 60 and see many things young people do that I think is kind of dumb but I don't go around calling it (and them) stupid. I know 30 or 50 years ago I did many of the same things. I think it's fun and they pay enough, if they want to throw back enemy HR's, let them. It's good for unity and camaraderie. Of course, only people that actually pay their way and actually sit out there would understand that and I promise you that they don't care what the snobs in their ivory tower think about it.
You know what I do think is really very stupid though? The constant harping and relentless questions about what to do with the stadium. Some obsessed media member just asked Hal about it recently. For heavens sake, they obviously aren't going to change anything during the season and the old stadium isn't down yet. One could tell that Hal was annoyed and who could blame him? I believe the smart approach with this is to understand that no changes will be made soon, if ever, and let management and the engineers do their jobs. I doubt any media members are even remotely qualified to make any decision, especially not right now. It might not matter but what if the old stadium removal makes a difference? Some people won't be able to look at themselves in the mirror and honestly not think they were being simple minded. You know, we just had 3 straight 2-1 wins. Seems like the stadium was perfect to me.
Sorry, forgot to add great post! Can't wait to see your next post!

For anyone who heard Girardi mention the time Tex threw a runner out at home earlier this season, I just laughed out loud picturing Giambi making a strong throw from his knees.
