Colin Cowherd (sp?) is a moron. He thinks 75% of couples cheat on each other and 75% of baseball players are on steroids. He thinks its funny. HA. ESPN is a joke. Francessa was right about that. Of course, when it's A-rod they crucify him, but when it's the red sox it's "but everyone else was doing it!!!" RIGHT cuase that makes it right. Last i checked my mom said two wrongs do not.

Personally, I'm sorry to read about the Ortiz revelations.

All the Red Sox Nation vs. Yankees Universe skirmishes over who juiced more are pretty pathetic. The fact is that the whole sport was compromised in any number of ways. The clean guys will be unfairly tainted and some dirty guys will get away with it. Media, fans, ownership, the union... everybody wanted to believe that the game was back and better than ever after the strike.

The "investigation" of steroids use was authorized by a clueless Commissioner, and perpetrated by a greedy, rapacious pol with ties to the Red Sox who had nothing to show for his "fee" until a certain former NYPD cop, alleged date rapist and "trainer" fell into his lap, via IRS CID. The Report was half-arsed and biased, a cut and paste job with no pretense to objectivity. It cost millions and did nothing to end the controversy.

So much of the country is fake, is it any wonder the game was too? It's too slow, not enough offense... whatever the complaint is. Steroids was Baseball's boob job. It's called enhancement at the plastic surgeons's office too and it's just as much of a shame there as it is on the baseball diamond. (Not every woman is naturally a 37DD, you know? I think implants look preposterous too, but what do I know....)

Baseball is beautiful naturally and if that's not good enough for you, you don't get the game and you're not a fan. That's the real tragedy. Nobody says you have to like baseball. But today's revelations hurt more than satisfy. They start to fill in the blanks, give a better context to the first group of outed players, even Bonds. The picture just keeps getting worse.

It's time for eveybody to come clean, a truth and reconciliation process. Come forward now and unburden yourself, save the game, get amnesty and go on. Any future positive results equals lifetime ban. Period.

Does it really make a fan feel better to boo or jeer another steroids user? Not me. Not at all.

"Gammons said that winning in 2007 takes a little bit of suspicion away from 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still spinning the truth Gammons"

What puts the lie to that is Manny being suspended THIS year for illegal drug use that has ties to steroids. Why would he be using in 2003 and 2009 and not all the years in between?

Why the big downturn from Ortiz? Not to mention the captain, as his name isn't out there... at least not yet.

The only positive that this does - for me as a Yankee fan - is it ends the spewing of the RS fans who kept saying that their team was clean.

None were totally clean. None.

I do agree with Gammons about releasing all the names. It needs to come from the players union and be pushed by those who are clean to just get it all over with.

Having it hang over everything is bad. While I doubt it caught every user, it would help put this behind them.

a) will Pete rip Manny and Ortiz as much as he did ARod

b) will Pete apologize for ripping ARod and accept that almost everybody did it

c) will Pete skate past the issue and say it's in the past

d) other?

Shame Spencer,

I agree...

it's just not a slam dunk that the Yanks outmuscle the Sox with $$$ this time.

The Sox pocketed a bunch of money by not signing any big contracts this year (and by switching to Geico).

Perhaps the Halladay/Rios sweepstakes is an even playing field this time.

RayVT-

You MUST resubmit your line up when I actually start the game at 3 today. No early submissions!!!!!

I am trying to stick to the actual rules I set for this game to avoid line up chaos. The window for “Guess the Line Up” for games are as follows (weekdays only):

7pm starts= 2pm-3:40
8pm starts= 3pm-4:40
10pm starts- 5pm- 6:40
1pm starts- 9-10am

I can’t allow early line ups Ihave a well paying job that has absolutely nothing to do with the Yankees. I need to do work sometimes. I am afraid if I start making exceptions everyone will do it and I will miss line ups and people will get angry with me.
