Pete Abe says; Seriously, get Posada out of the game before he gets another hit. He is killing the Yankees.

That's what's wrong with writers and fans today, forgive total lack of effort, if the player comes back with a big hit or 2. How about rewarding guys that give you 100% every day, game in and game out, and have the balls to bench a star player in a huge situation, because he's not giving it his all. Remember Billy Martin pulling Reggie out of a game because he didn't hustle down to 1B? Stars get too many passes in live and in the game. Give me a team of Jeter's and Tex any day, not just their abilities, but their professional manner and all out effort on every play. You can all forgive Posada for his screw-up running home, or was that a fast walk, his letting yet another strike 3 pitch get under his glove and his total lack of effort on just two many plays throughout the year, I won't.

actually I'll be ecstatic knowing our hitters don't have to deal with it, thinking something might happen doesn't mean I hope something does

to think that Beckett will plunk someone with his team 3.5 games out of first in the month of August is not intelligent. To think that Beckett might do it if the Sux have a 6 run lead in the 8th inning and Beckett is still in - well that's different.

Don't look for any plunking early on. You'll just be disappinted.

rotoworld.com - MVP for Tex??

"Mark Teixeira went 3-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and three RBI in a win over the Red Sox on Thursday night.
Tex has collected hits in 14 of his past 15 games, and is hitting .349 with a .698 slugging percentage during that span. If he can keep hitting like this down the stretch -- as he did last year -- he'll be the MVP frontrunner. "

If there ends up being a brawl this weekend, this is where the trade for Hinske could really pay off.

He strikes me as a BAMF that I wouldn't want to mess with.

I don't understand the move of putting Gaudin in the bullpen. He's already stretched out to be a starter, and Aceves isn't stretched out enough to be a reliever. I also think it's a little risky to move Aceves into the rotation right now because of his shoulder.

Gaudin throws a fastball with decent movement that sits at about 90 mph with a good slider, about a K per inning, David.

Smoltz has electric stuff!
Keep running him out there, Francona.
He's a HOF !
He'll come around eventually.
Peter Gammons is never wrong.

(hey as a Yankee fan, don't you want Smoltz to keep starting?)
