The Yankees beat the Blue Jays to finish off a good road trip. Now come the Red Sox.

Alfredo Aceves got some big outs last night. This notebook also has updates on a roster move, Russ Ortiz, Muhammad Ali and Alex Rodriguez.

Have you been to a Cubbie/Cardinal game?

I have been going to Sox/Yankee games since the 50′s. I went to almost all the games at Shea and then followed them back to the Stadium. Things changed in late 70′s when the Sox/Yankees suck started. While I understand your feelings and more than understand the rivalry, the ugliness detracts from the game’s beauty. It is about baseball.

Oh the pressure! Smoltz finally is tuned up and tonight’s the night he and the Red Sox tune up for the play-offs. If we lose all four we’ll be 0-12 against them.

Has that ever happened before? Going 0-18 against one team in your division? Beckett pitching “Ace-like”, Lester always giving our left-handed line-up fits and Clay, geared to pitch a BIG game in his young career!

    Oh the pressure…..the pressure

I don’t understand why the Yankees aren’t paying tribute to Munson tonight… considering it’s the first home game after the 30th anniversary of his passing.

The Yanks should have a moment of silence before the game in Thurman’s memory.

Then go ahead and take four from the Sox.

OK, I’ll be happy if the Yanks are still in first after the series.
