Johnny Damon hit a homer then left the game with sore leg muscles. This notebook also has updates on Jorge Posada, Hideki Matsui and Sergio Mitre.

The Yankees need to keep winning series afte series so they can get their pitching aligned for the playoffs the last two weeks in September.

Hopefully, the Yankees will give Damon some rest when the roster expands. We’ll need him in the postseason, badly.

By the way so much for the curse of David Letterman with four runs driven in yesterday for Teixeira.

Dehydration? Lol. What do these ballplayers do when theyre not playing?

Cmon, you can not get dehydration from playing a ball game, unless you don;t ingest a singel fluid for maybe 48 hours. How could he be dehydrated?

So what he pulled a muscle, big deal, it’ll heal.

Looking at the schedule the week of September 21st will be a key week. The Yanks play 3 in Anahiem against the LAA and then 3 against Boston in NYC. Yanks are playing very well now and a series win against both clubs I think will say a lot.

Joba is matched up against Halladay on Friday, wonder if he’ll go 3 innings?

  11. Get Yer Damn Hands Off Of Her August 31st, 2009 at 8:39 am

“Joba’s limit will be increased to 40 piches to increase arm strength.”

I think Joba is in store for another 3 inning stint, Joe was not saying anything other than Joba knows what he is going to pitch that day/night and it is written down and that there is no way it changes during the game. So if you do the math it’s hard to see him going more than that.

I’d guess that his next two starts will be 4 innings and then a 5 and maybe 6 after that.

I just find the whole situation a mess. This had better be the last year for the Joba Rules.

Ace is getting stretched out also, flying under the radar, is the possibility he may start in an emergency a hidden factor at play here?
